Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort - a concept by Hyatt

I really wanted to love the Andaz Maui because Andaz properties are usually very highly regarded, but this property did not make the mark. It is a nice property with some high points, but also some low points. One high point is that we were upgraded to an ocean view room. We were able to do a lot of whale watching from our lanai each day, but that was also a low point. This resort does not offer much to do when the weather is not good, so we ended up doing a lot of whale watching. We did participate in a palm weaving class with Uncle Ron that was excellent, but a class here and there does not make up for lack of things to do in this resort and area when the weather is poor. The bellmen and courtesy car drivers were prompt and always friendly. Concierge failed to notify us our outrigger Tour was canceled due to poor weather conditions. We only found out when we went to check in at the beach. Kind of messed up our whole day. Food at Morimoto's was mediocre at best and overpriced. The Ka'ana Kitchen breakfast buffet had limited servers, so it took forever to get coffee and order our omelets each morning. Also, the shower - please stop putting in these aquarium showers. They are awkward, even for a married couple. Maybe 10% of people might enjoy this shower style, but think of how awkward they are if you're staying with someone you don't want to see naked when you walk in the bathroom like Grandma or your Dad if you're a kid. They are just obnoxious. I'm sure the poor weather played a big part in my rating, but even with more sunshine, I would not recommend this resort to friends visiting the area.

Friendly staff, but it rained a lot and was hard to find where to eat especially lunch as there are few dining venues and most are outside. Rooms were clean, property was beautiful.

Amazing resort! The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. This was our second time at the resort and definitely will come back!

We tools Amex fine hotels deal. Expecting an upgrade, if available. Forget the upgrade, even though the hotel was pretty empty, we were given a not so great room even after I requested. There was zero benefit of Amex other than $100 and a good for nothing letter

Beautiful hotel on a great walkway and sandy beach. Delicious food and buffet breakfast. Comfortable bed and fabulous powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Great stay!

The hotel is located in a fantastic are. The room is wonderful as are the grounds, gym, beach and pools. The staff is also great. However, the breakfast buffet lacks much variety, is highly expensive for what you get and is not that great. In terms of quality. The cocktail and food prices at every resort option are insanely too high. I expect to pay more in Hawaii and at a resort, but this was beyond a premium. This was robbery. A cocktail can be as much as $40. You cannot park your own car and you are forced to pay $60 a day for valet no matter what you do. That is a bad policy when the cost of the room is already very high per night. Parking should be included or guests should have a self parking option the. Rooms are around $800 a night minimum. So, in summary the facility and grounds are very nice, but you will be nickled and dimed at every turn to spend more money on items that should be included or cost less Than they do at this resort

Joshua personally took care of us and helped coordinate what turned out to be the absolute best event we could have imagined to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and his presence alone brought a sense of calm, confidence, and genuine care. You could tell immediately that he wasn’t just doing a job — he was committed to creating a meaningful, unforgettable experience. The entire staff was phenomenal. Every team member we encountered was warm, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. There was never a moment where we felt overlooked or rushed. The level of hospitality was truly world-class and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another reservation. What truly stood out was the exceptional value and generosity of the resort. The deals offered through Andaz were the best we could find anywhere, and the amount of complimentary amenities was honestly impressive. This experience perfectly explains why we return twice a year. There is something truly unique about this place — it doesn’t just feel like a hotel, it feels like a destination where memories are made. It honestly feels like the kind of place where global celebrations happen — the kind of place you’d expect Beyoncé to celebrate her birthday every year. Joshua is a true asset to Andaz. His leadership, professionalism, communication, and genuine kindness made this stay unforgettable. We are beyond grateful to him and the entire Andaz team for creating such a magical, meaningful celebration for us. Thank you so much for an experience we will remember forever. We cannot wait to return — again and again.

Beautiful ambience; small hotel that was not over done. Have stayed at various hotels in the area this had a very "chill" vibe. Loved the infinity pools service at all levels -pool; housekeeping etc. was exceptional.
