Our second time staying at the Shinola and it did not disappoint. Our favorite hotel in Detroit. Beautiful hotel. Incredible service from front desk to valet to restaurant to housekeeping.

Cool hotel great location but the restaurant is mediocre - we weren’t told about the breakfast and complimentary coffee so we missed that the fist day staff is accommodating and helpful

AMAZING!! front desk staff and the guest experience team for all their help with my accommodation and requests – they're so awesome, it's like we say, 'forget about it!'

My husband and I had an amazing get away to The Shinola Hotel. The accommodations were beautiful. Will and Lucy went above and beyond at check in to make us feel welcomed. They were both so friendly and Will gave us a great recommendation for a unique coffee shop. We hope to be back again soon.

Great Stay! First time in Detroit and a friend recommended the Shinola - I'm so glad she did. William was at the front desk to assist with my check-in. He provided so many great recommendations (where to eat, what to see, how to get around town) and he was spot on. I felt so welcome from the start. My room was cozy and perfect. The restaurant in the hotel provided a great breakfast (included with my room) and I enjoyed a nice dinner there on evening when I didn't want to go out in the snow. I was pleased that they were able to accommodate my gluten-free (celiac) diet seamlessly. Make sure you stop by the Shinola store (as a hotel guest) you get a discount - they have some beautiful things! The location was perfect in the middle of downtown. Was super impressed and would not hesitiate to stay there again!

First class experience, great location, friendly and professional staff await you at this true gem in the city. The rooms are nicely appointed. Bathroom and shower are exceptionally luxurious. The location cannot be beat. Great shopping near by (Apple, Nike, LuluLemon) just to name a few. Restaurant abound. Quick walk to Campus Martius. Also walkable to Comerica, Ford Field and the Fox. This boutique hotel feels like being in a quaint section of Paris or Rome. treat yourself. It is a MUST!

Checkin: fabulous. Greeted with champagne, a full explanation of our AmEx benefits, and the kindest reception. Hannah was a delight and knocked it out of the park! Our room was perfect, comfy slippers, fluffy robe, beautiful and tastefully designed, with the most comfortable bed I may have ever slept in! The shades keep the room completely blacked out so I slept super late (for me)! The room makes sense - the lighting is amazing. So many hotels get lighting wrong, but Shinola gets it. Warm light that doesn’t blast you in the face. Even the ceiling lights are dipped lightbulbs so the light shoots up at the ceiling rather than being harsh and pointing down like you’re being interrogated. The bathroom is beautiful - the tile is so nice and the water pressure in the shower was great. Two shower heads are always a nice bonus as well! The service in the living room was super kind and attentive, I believe her name was Gel (sp? Sorry if it’s wrong!) Check out was awesome, our dog got a treat from Will, who was so delightful to speak with and super helpful with our questions! Oh! And this is the first time I’ve ever stayed in a “pet friendly” hotel, that actually, really IS pet friendly. Our floor had a terrace with turf and poppy bags and a trash can so we didn’t even have to exit the hotel into the winter madness if my dog had to potty. That was EVERYTHING. He also got a plush dog bed and a water bowl! Honestly this experience at Shinola Hotel was A+. Can I move in? My one suggestion would be to add one or two solid vegan-friendly items to the menus. 💛

Service was truly A+… every staff member we encountered was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful. And you can’t beat the location — perfectly situated for walking to great shopping, dining, and exploring Detroit. An exceptional stay from start to finish. Highly recommend
