"Another Disney Adventure"

8.0

Deluxe View Room (Adventure Tower) We have stayed 8 nights in March 2025, Originally we were booked for a standard view room, however upon check in we were advised that our room had the 2 queen bed set up and if we wanted to have a room with a king bed, we will need to upgrade to a deluxe view room due to availability at the time. We have decided to for the upgrade at check-in, as we much prefer a king bed. Overall, the stay was pleasant and we generally enjoy our stays at this hotel. I have the history and Disney feeling this hotel provides but let’s just say, the value of this is very much disappearing when comparing to previous trips. Previously, we have enjoyed the 1 hour early into a Disneyland resort park benefit of this hotel, on this 2025 trip, that was reduced to 30mins and at the time I write this review in 2026, this benefit is completely gone. This hotel was never about “value” but the removal of benefits reduced its appeal and specialness. Our room had a view of the Disneyland Hotel pool which is nice in the day and beautiful at night when its all lit up. The space in the room itself for just the 2 of us was plenty, but with a larger group it could feel a bit tight, but that would be normal any standard hotel room. The room had a small refresh since our last visit in 2018 which was nice, but the bathrooms are really showing their age. Location is great as it is on Disney property, so right outside of hotel is Downtown Disney, which you walk through to the 2 parks (5-10min walk). We enjoy the walk between the park and the hotel however some people say it’s a bit too far but that all really comes down to personal preferences and situations. The security process can be time consuming at times, this is certainly something Disney needs to work on by improving the efficiency/time it takes to get through security screening, especially at peak times. Overall, I still say this is a great hotel for people that love Disney and love Disneyland history, however if that doesn’t mean that much you, I suggest staying at an off-property hotels at a lower price point including some of the true luxury hotels (JW Marriott & Westin).

"Cast Members Make The REAL Magic Here!"

10.0

The Disneyland Hotel has always been THE place to stay. Our recent visit illustrated why we've kept returning. The Cast Members are truly the ones who make magic happen. We felt genuinely cared for. Shout out to the front desk crew- Brittany, Elena, Ernesto and Penny for all their kindness and hard work to solve an issue that we had. They were patient, thoughtful and shared useful insights for our visit. What's more is that not only did they make us feel like royalty, but when we saw some of them later in the visit, they stopped to ask us how things were going. Now, that is real service! With all that they had going on, they took the time to stop for a moment to check in with us. It meant a LOT. We had the opportunity to stay in a club level room and have access to the High Key Club. We've stayed concierge level before and it has always been a great experience and this was once again, incredible. The cast members in the lounge were attentive, kind and genuine without hovering or making you feel like you were being "watched." If we needed something, we asked and they provided service with a smile! Thank you to Robert, Cynthia, Guille and Kay for making it extra special. It was a pleasure to see each of you when we would trudge in after a busy park day or in the mornings. The food offerings in the lounge were also top-notch! Breakfast items included bagels, bread, pastries, hot chocolate, fresh fruit (grapes, pineapple, strawberries, apples, bananas), oatmeal and hot biscuits & gravy as well as sliced salmon, ham and turkey. During the afternoon snack time there were pretzels, chips, uncrustables, trail mix fixings, tea sandwiches and of course, fruit but the best part of all was the freezer with ice cream novelties...including the great Mickey Mouse ice cream bars! Evening provided warm appetizers that could and did serve as a meal. Items like arepas, shrimp, egg rolls and other items like cold meats, veggie spreads, cheese, crackers, fruit and breads provided. The drink cooler was always stocked with Coca Cola, Coke Zero, Sprite, Ginger Ale, juice, milk and bottled water for the grab-and-go! The desserts at night varied with cookies (sugar, chocolate chip, and oatmeal), mini cheesecakes, cake pops, various cobblers and rice krispie treats (Mickey shaped, of course!). The rooms are clean and cozy. Our room was perfectly clean and the housekeeping provided extra towels on request. Beds were extremely comfortable. Do keep in mind that this hotel is 70 years old, and despite a couple of remodels, the buildings do show their age a little bit and if this bothers you, stay somewhere else if modern updates are more to your taste. Rooms have plenty of lighting, lamps and alarm clocks do have USB ports. Bathrooms provide several lighting options instead of just one big florescent light. Bathrooms here are shower/tub combinations so if you want a standalone shower, those aren't here. Ice machines on every floor and efficient elevators provide exactly what we need! Truly, no complaints about the room. Water pressure is on the lower side but that is not a dealbreaker for us. Water was warm/hot as needed for showering. The ambience of the entire hotel complex is calming. Beautiful DISNEY themed music plays throughout the grounds and each hotel tower (Fantasy, Adventure and Frontier) provide their own themed music loops as you enter. The Discovery Tower is the newer DVC building. We did not stay here, but did see a room and despite it's "newness" is not to our liking. We much prefer the original Disneyland Hotel rooms. Again, thank you to all of the staff that we interacted with for making our stay the very, very best.

"Most magical place to stay!"

10.0

The Disneyland hotel is a Must stay! Nothing beats the smell, the atmosphere, the cast members or the food! We spent 4 nights in the Fantasy tower standard queen room 2623 the 8th floor. We could watch the fireworks laying in bed without having to pay a higher rate. The room was very clean and the beds are SO comfortable..Ordering room service for breakfast I found was cheaper than eating in the park and always arrived fairly quick and was hot.Very sound proof rooms. The pool is beautiful, but was to chilly to really swim the week we were there. The Monorail is only a 5 minute walk from the Fantasy tower. PRO’S -Everything Disney -Clean -Close to Downtown Disney and the Monorail -No need to check in at front desk as app wil let you know when room is ready and can use app to unlock hotel room -Goofys Kitchen is downstairs -Huge gift shop -Cast members are so friendly and helpful CONS -Lobby can get very busy -pretty expensive to stay Also to note we purchased the priemere pass for one day at the parks and was totally worth the $399 per person. We did 18 lightning lanes and our day was so laid back and relaxing. No running back and forth to get your lighting lane or spending all your time on the app to book them. We started at Indiana Jones and made our way around the whole park and then walked over to DCA.

"Disappointing"

4.0

We have stayed at many disney properties and have been on disney cruises and know the brand is usually great. We like the convenience and expext a clean and great experience for the price you pay. We stayed in the Frontier building this time. The room was clean went entering. It was small and dated. When we used the shower it had chipped tile, the grout was dirty and the overflow plate on the faucet wasn't attached. The sink had chips and looked dirty. The towels were thin and old. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. On our third night we came back to a dirty room, housekeeping skipped our services. I voiced my concerns when checking out and Natalie a supervisor was rude and did not want to hear the complaints. This was a very disappointing trip especially for the $800 plus a night we spent.

"Disappointing and I'm a Disney fanatic"

6.0

First off, the hotel staff was great, as you'd expect from Disney. And the location is fantastic for walking into the parks. Sadly, the hotel room was a huge disappointment, particularly at this price point. We stayed in the Frontier tower. When we first arrived, the sink was clogged and one of the lights in the room did not work. We called down and they sent someone to fix them. The phone handset didn't work. You had to use the speaker phone. The room was on the cool side. We set the temp to 73 and later 74, but it never got above 70. We had a room with two queen beds, but you could not sit on the edge of the bed without sliding off onto the floor. Hence, without a normal, supportive edge to the mattresses, it felt like you were sleeping in a double bed. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels in my life and I can honestly say I don't recall ever having a mattress with that problem before. There's no fan in the bathroom, which is annoying for multiple reasons. No one wants to hear you doing your business from out in the room, and when multiple people are showering, the third person is forced to be in a sauna. There's also no sink in the room with the shower and toilet, which is unhygienic. I had to crouch down in the shower to wash my hair and I'm only 6 feet tall. The sink had minimal water pressure. And you had the choice of water that was too hot to use, or cold water. There was no in between. If you turned on the warm water tap, the temp was too hot to keep your hand under the stream. If you then turned on the cold water tap, even very slightly, the temp instantly dropped to cool and then cold. No matter what you do from then on, you cannot get warm water back without closing both taps, and then turning on the hot water tap only. I won't get into the prices of things at the hotel's stores, because if you've ever visited Disney, you know what's coming. But overall, I would not stay here again. I believe you can stay offsite nearby for less and hopefully get a nicer room, and only walk a few minutes more. And since they've dropped the early entry benefit for staying onsite, you'd no longer be missing out on that.

"Convenient location for visiting the parks"

10.0

First trip to Disneyland and enjoyed our stay at the Disneyland Hotel. We liked the convenient location which allowed us to walk directly to the parks after going through the Downtown Disney area. The hotel was nice and maintained even though it's one of the original buildings. The staff we interacted with during our stay were all friendly. The only disappointment for us was the "preferred view" that we paid extra for. We basically had a view of a roof and a city roadway.

"Awesome and magical stay!"

10.0

Wow! It has been about 10 years since I stayed here last and what a delight this stay was! I was able to afford this hotel because I was attending a professional conference at the hotel. This made the room rate more affordable. The hotel is old but very well maintained. The first room I was put in was next to the elevator and I could hear the elevators going up and down all night long. the front desk was able to quickly find a new room for me down the hall in the same floor the next morning. The rooms are impeccable and have so many hidden Mickeys. The grounds, pool and restaurants are impeccable and easy to mobile order from and run down to get food to bring back to the room. I did need to request Facilities to come and pour something down the bathroom sink as it was pretty smelly every time I turned on the water. When I requested - the stag knew right away what to do and after the remedy there were no more concerns about turning the water in the bathroom sink. I live this hotel and would stay in here again if I can afford it. This hotel is awesome!

"The Perfect Hotel for Our Kids’ First Disneyland Trip"

10.0

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for our first official Disney trip with the kids, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The whole hotel feels fun, magical, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Everything was clean, bright, and full of those little Disney touches that make the kids light up instantly. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for all the bags, snacks, and kid stuff that comes with a family vacation. The headboard lights up with fireworks, which became one of our kids’ favorite things every night. It truly feels like Disney magic inside the room, not just in the parks. One of the biggest perks of staying here is how easy it is to walk to Disneyland and California Adventure. For a first trip, that convenience is everything. Being able to take a midday break, grab a nap, or let the kids unwind without a long commute made our days so much smoother. And of course, Goofy’s Kitchen — our absolute favorite character breakfast. It’s right here at the Disneyland Hotel, and even if you’re not staying at the hotel, you can still come for breakfast. The characters, the energy, the food… it’s such a fun way to start the day and perfect for little ones experiencing Disney for the first time. Overall, the Disneyland Hotel is ideal for families who want comfort, convenience, and a full dose of Disney magic. It made our first trip with the kids unforgettable, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

"Great amenities and convenience but reserve ahead for dining"

10.0

I love this hotel. Very close to the parks and Downtown Disney. The pools are bigger and better than the ones at the Grand Californian Hotel. The pool service was good too. The only thing I would like to point out is that is always very difficult to make restaurant reservations at the most popular ones (always make reservations 60 days in advance). But for hotel guests, I think they should reserve some tables at the hotel restaurant.

"Great location"

10.0

The room seemed clean, and the elevators were quick in the fantasy tower. The hotel has a gift shop and a sundries shop. It's a very short walk to downtown Disney and if you need to rent an ECV you can have one delivered to the hotel through Scooter Bug.
