"Good for a city break, try to stay without a car as parking is expensive and offsite"

6.0

Well located for getting into the Town Centre and tourist attractions. Clean house and comfortable beds.

There is no parking. Parking costs between £10 and £20 per day and is a considerable walk away from the property for anyone with mobility issues.

This is a lovely house. There’s an additional separate toilet, which made a single bathroom for a family of 6 doable. Lots of extras you don’t often get in a holiday house rental such as shower gel/shampoo, hand wash and conditioner in the bathroom, tea, coffee, sugar and other essentials in the kitchen, even a splash of milk - enough to make tea when you arrive. It’s in a really great location just outside the city walls, and a stones throw from bishopthorpe road that has some great independent shops etc. A deal on parking and lots of great communication from the owners.

I missed the email about what we needed to do before we left, so we didnt do any of it. I’m so embarrassed not to have left it exactly as it should have been.

"Great stay in York!"

9.0

The house is large and spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Alistair and Esther were very quick to respond to messages. Alistair even called us to check everything was ok and sorted us out with fans for our rooms as it was usually hot. The house is well situated very close to the city walls and walkable to all attractions and round the corner from 'Bishy Road' which has a supermarket and numerous restaurants. We highly recommend Angel on the Green for their croquettes and pizza and Lal Quila for Indian food.

It would have been good to have either a full length mirror somewhere and a mirror that was lower down in the first floor bedroom as the one we had was too high up. It's not something that can be helped due to the location, but we had to have the window opened the first night and the traffic was so noisy. Even with the window closed, it was very loud. Just something to be aware of! It also would have been nice to have had cushions for the outside space as it wasn't very comfortable

Great location , very cosy and tastefully decorated .The hosts kept in touch and were checking that everything was ok . We received a call on the way to York advising the property was ready earlier than expected check in . Greatly appreciated as we were able to drop in , leave the luggage and go out to eat .

"Relaxing"

10.0

Beautiful decor. Quality bed linen. Comfortable and practical but also full of character. Rare that properties balance both. Really comfy beds and sofa. Just felt instantly relaxed. Spacious bedrooms. Good location near restaurants and deli/bakery. Easy walk to main attractions. Wish we had booked to stay for longer so to enjoy the location more. Quiet street and blackout blinds so perfect for a good night’s sleep.

Couldn’t fault it really - close to perfect. I wasn’t keen on not having direct control over the heating though. Also we didn’t try to open upstairs windows due to window film - though not a major issue as we went in early spring - but some people like to sleep with window open.
