GLOBALSTAY Modern Downtown Apartment

The check in process was a mess. This is not a hotel, it’s an apartment complex and the owner rents this property through Expedia. There is no one to do the check in. As Americans traveling to Canada, we had no internet so we could follow the check in instructions sent by email that morning. We had to go to a restaurant and bought something to eat in order to be able to use the wifi and send all the documentation they had requested. Due to that lengthy process I lost my birthday dinner reservation. On top of that, they sent me a bill for cleaning fee, because we didn’t take the trash out of the apartment before we left. After traveling so much around the world I’ve never experienced something like that in my life. I would not recommend this property at all. Please find yourself a nice hotel around the neighborhood, they have plenty.

L’appartement est conforme aux photos, le lit est confortable et l’emplacement central justifie un certain niveau de bruit. Toutefois, plusieurs éléments ont diminué la qualité de notre séjour. Le check-in a été laborieux : on nous demandait un numéro d’unité jamais communiqué, et malgré une demande d’arrivée anticipée faite d’avance, il a fallu relancer à plusieurs reprises par appels et messages pour finalement recevoir une confirmation vers 15h. Il semble y avoir plusieurs intervenants dans le processus, ce qui nuit à la fluidité du service. Sur place, l’air climatisé de la chambre était hors service, la douche principale réparée au ruban adhésif, trois portes sur quatre coinçaient, et la serrure de la porte d’entrée semblait instable. Les vitres côté balcon étaient très sales, et les draps pour le divan-lit dispersés un peu partout. Un étui à brosse à dents oublié derrière l’évier a aussi soulevé des questions sur la propreté. L’endroit a du potentiel, mais nécessiterait plus de rigueur et de coordination.

Beware, you might not get the room you think you are booking. We booked next to the CN tower and found out on arrival we were half a mile away in a different area of the city. Also, we didn't get the balcony we booked. Globalstay were awful, slow to reply and just stating "that's what we booked" until provided with proof, then they said what we booked was "just an example" and they have lots of apartments. Also had to get our key from a key box down a back alley which was strange. Dodgy company, I'd steer well clear. Hotels.com didn't do much to sort the situation out, although we did end up getting £72 back as compensation, so somebody knows this isn't right...

This is a hidden gem and an outstanding property to stay at overnight for a concert or event in downtown Toronto. The property would also be a wonderful home base for a family or small group for a Toronto vacation as it’s located close to the Island Airport, Highway, shopping, entertainment, major attractions and walkable & city transportation to anywhere you wish to go! Finally, any balcony view is outstanding both day and night as you take in the beauty, sights and sounds of this amazing, cosmopolitan, world renown city with Canadian hospitality!

Location, room size

The dishwasher doesn’t clean dishes because the dishwasher tablet compartment didn’t close, so the first water washed out all the detergent. The property rules state that guests are required to load the laundry with dirty towels and turn the Quick Wash Cycle. I have doubts that towels are cleaned properly with a short wash cycle.

Processus de paiement du dépôt ardue du fait qu’on reçoit message nous informant de payer dépôt remboursable avec une mauvaise adresse courriel! 3 agents virtuels d’Expedia qui me disent de ne pas payer … bref tout à été corrigé dès que j’ai eu bonne adresse de courriel pour rejoindre l’hôte! ! Je viens de recevoir remboursement du dépôt !

Proximity to tourist spots and the Rogers Centre, plus the quality of restaurants in the local area. The swimming pool was also a lovely added extra.
