"Shuttle service terrible, do not recommend"

4.0

The shuttle service was terrible and I do not recommend this hotel. The shuttle was too small, only comes once every hour, and guests need to get to Federal Circle to get the shuttle. We were not able to get on the first shuttle and then after more than one hour wait, we had to fight our way onto the next shuttle as people who arrived after us tried to get on. Everything else was fine but not amazing. We did not feel unsafe at the location, and found the room and breakfast fine for a one night stay. The hotel staff was friendly but we would not stay here again after our experience with the shuttle and the hotel's unwillingness to offer any compensation or solutions regarding the shuttle.

We were very disappointed. We took that hotel because it was easy to find, with a free shuttle from the airport. Unfortunately, the shuttle never came and we had very hard time to get to the hotel. We calld the hotel like 5 times and they proposed nothing, just saying : shuttle is a free service, not a mandatory service. As such, just be prpared to add a 30dollars cab to the fee, as ther is no way to get there except by cab.

"Amazed at the bad reviews"

10.0

I’m amazed at the bad reviews! This place is value for money in comparison with other airport hotels. After arriving in JFK we took the air train to federal circle, after getting off ring the hotel and there is an automated number to text or if you connect to the operator they will send the driver. We waited about 20 mins. The hotel is clean and modern and I would not hesitate to stay here again. The breakfast is fantastic with a wide range of hot and cold items and even a waffle maker! The rooms are a good size and exceptionally clean. From the entrance of the hotel you can see a range of fast foot restaurants which were ideal after a long flight. No concerns regarding the neighbourhood. As you look at McDonald’s, turn right and the subway is a few mins down the road. Line E takes you direct into the centre of New York.

No one came to pick us up and we ended staying at the airport. I will not be paying for the hotel. Terrible experience, 3 seniors and 2 children and myself waited almost an hour for shuttle and multiple calls but no shuttle to hotel.

"Not impressed and disappointed"

2.0

If you want the shuttle from JFK, you will call the hotel and press 2. Then they will tell you to call a different number. Now you need to find a pen and paper to write the number. We called the number, then it said to text and provide your code which we do not know what it is! We called the main number and pressed 0 for assistance and of course no one answers. We ended up spending 30 minutes calling at different time using our international cell phone (roaming charges) until finally someone answered. In addition, we arrived at the hotel for check-in and there was no greetings and lacked customer service. Note that 1 night cost us $389 plus tax ($440 total). It is not worth staying there and we plan to not use this hotel during our quarterly trip to New York.

"Great JFK airport hotel"

10.0

Had a one night layover between flights and booked into this SpringHill property, decided to get a taxi to the hotel as we had 5 luggage and no phone access, easier to get to taxi rank at JFK than the shuttle stop which requires use of the Skytrain cost $30 plus tip took around 25 minutes. Check-in was easy and we booked the return shuttle on arrival, given time 10 minutes before 3pm departure, staff were functional and did their jobs well, room was great for overnight stay we were on LG floor right next to where the breakfast is served, breakfast was normal SpringHill offering, good but no muffins! We checked out at 11am (could have stayed to noon) and stored our bags (free). There are fast food places very close and some restaurants/bars close by, the metro station is about 5/10 minutes away. After check-out we headed to Rego Park 9605 Queens Blvd, 2 trains total 4 stops from hotel and shopped at Burlington and Marshalls returned to the hotel retrieved our bags and repacked! The lower GF area is also a waiting are which is comfortable for later flights. Got shuttle at 3pm dropped off at terminal door (tipped driver) This is a great place to stay as an airport hotel at JFK

I have stayed in 4 different hotels during my 17 day trip. By far this is the worst. I waited for the shuttle for one hour and never showed up. Their customer service does not answer the calls….

"Excellent customer service but fix the shuttle bus"

8.0

After a missed flight at JFK, we found this to be the nearest available hotel. We checked in after 1 a.m. and we had the most excellent customer service from Donna who was very empathetic to our plight and arranged for a late checkout. Our room was spacious and clean; the free breakfast was delicious. Upon departing, Paul provided us excellent customer service and the shuttle driver to JFK was very friendly and helpful. It was frustrating after a terrible night to wait an hour in the middle of the night for the shuttle driver. When he arrived, there was a line and not enough room in the van, and he was not particularly friendly. (This is a different driver than the one who took us back to JFK.) When he arrived, we were cut off by other people who had not been waiting very long and because we were a family, we couldn't get on and we were advised it would be another 45 minute wait. We got in a cab and paid for that instead. It sounds like their shuttle bus, which carries more people, has issues and needs to be fixed. This is the only reason for my 4 stars.
