Carlton Suites

The location is ideal for me, across the road from the station and one block from Woolworths, in town. The staff are lovely too. And it has everything I want, in particular fine Wifi, all at an eminently reasonable price, with no additional features that do not interest me.

This time, my room had no window, but others do have windows, so I just need to check that in advance. I probably chose a cheaper room than I really want this time.

Clean and comfortable

The accommodation was comfortable and warm. It looks shabby outside but the room was clean and neat. The property was in easy walking distance to the Main Street and lots of restaurants. It had a microwave toaster and plates etc so I had a simple breakfast in the room. There is no dining facilities. Towels and linen were very good. A good cheap over night stop on my journey.

The only issue was a wobbly table. I didn’t need to use it but it would have been inconvenient for a couple having a meal.

It was okay, but nothing really. The reception was friendly and pleasant.

The room had no windows, no ambient lighting and the cleanliness was dubious. Opening the door was like walking into a cave and it also smelt stale. The towels were very thin, I’ve never experienced such skinny towels. No towel rails, no surface to put your toilet bag on. I’ve been travelling for a month and this was the worst place. I had to pay $20 just for onsite parking. Also a new experience.

Even though the booking was in our receptionists name, the staff was understanding and allowed me to stay. After an exhausting day at work, this was a welcomed outcome

the cleanliness and the location. it's near to the town proper where everything you need is available.

a small coffee shop or cafe could be a plus. enough to offer a good breakfast, snacks and coffee.
