Quality Inn & Suites South Portland

Location was good. The setup of the room was huge with a seperate living room area.

The room seemed to be updated with cabinets for the kitchenette area, but there's nothing in the kitchenette you can use. There's no utensils, cups, plates or pans. You'll have to go buy what you need to use it. Everything else was worn and showing it's age. The place would have looked 10 times better with just a coat of paint. The bed was hard and creaky. The bathroom needed a complete over haul. The ceiling tiles were moldy and the tub was gross with caulking peeling and both the tub and toilet had stains. There was no hair dryer, so I called asking for one, and the man who brought me one had an angry tone. He kept saying, "leave here" multiple times. I think he wanted to get across that I wasn't supposed to leave with it. OK buddy, I just want to dry my hair, not gonna steal your hair dryer. The final straw was a man just opening our door and walking right in our room just after my husband got out of the shower standing there half dressed. He said he was a carpenter and was told the room was unoccupied. We had just gotten a hair dryer so clearly, it was occupied. The front desk just said sorry she told him that the day before it was open. So they just give out keys to your room the day before you stay to someone else and they can come and go too? There was no offering of a percentage off our stay or a future stay and no manager ever called about it to address it. Left a bad taste and won't return.

Breakfast

The room was dirty sticky floors filthy couch not enough towels or sheets for the pull out or blanket also 2 tvs 1 control coffee pot was dirty freezer was dirty phone but no phone jack no coffee in the room I personally went and stayed at my relatives house the entrance door to the room was filthy for 479.00 was a big rip off

Dirty and noisy

South Portland, Maine: The room (101) was old and beat up. The AC unit, sink faucet, bathtub (had no water plug), walls, and flooring all needed work. This room was in no way worth $200 per night, and belies the name "Quality." Interestingly, I stayed in another Quality Inn by the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque a few days later, and by contrast, that was a beautiful room and great overall experience.

As always, Marriott properties go the extra mile. We always feel pampered at Mariott.

The staff was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. The room and common areas were well cleaned. The bathroom was clean with the exception of the shower. The tub faucet had plenty of pressure but when the shower was turned on it diminished significantly. There were parts of the shower that appeared to need a deep deep cleaning or replacement.
