"Disappointed by Leadership and Service at Garza Blanca Cabo"

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience because it fell far short of what I expected from a resort of this caliber. From the moment we arrived, the tone was set. We booked an ocean view room, yet were given one that looked directly at a street and rocks. When we raised the concern, there was no effort from leadership to make it right—just a shrug and “that’s the room.” Two days later, they called to say a new room was available. I went to the lobby, only to be shown a smaller room that was hardly an upgrade. Again, no sense of genuine effort to fix the situation. Later in the week, my wife accidentally left her bag at the pool around 2 PM. We realized at 8 PM and called the front desk, expecting they would have secured it. Instead, we were told they are “not responsible for personal items.” Despite staff cleaning the area for hours, the bag was left sitting on the chair. We eventually found it ourselves. Why wouldn’t they move it to lost and found? That’s basic hospitality. The most frustrating part was the kids club policy. Our three-year-old daughter is fully potty trained, very mature for her age, and in a class with older kids at home—but she was not allowed in the kids club all week because of their rigid age rule. This made family activities nearly impossible. When we tried to book an excursion, they offered a free zip line if we attended a membership tour—but only if both my wife and I went together. Since our daughter couldn’t go to the kids club, that was impossible. Their “solution”? A $20 discount if I went alone. It felt transactional and tone-deaf. To make matters worse, every time we called about an issue, the response was defensive rather than helpful. At one point, a staff member even sought out my wife at the pool, confirmed her name, and proceeded to justify their actions from the prior evening—then walked away. No “Did you find your bag?” No “Can we make this right?” No offer of a credit or gesture of goodwill. For a resort that claims to relieve stress and create a luxury experience, this approach was baffling. To be fair, the frontline staff—servers, pool attendants, housekeeping—were generally very kind and hardworking. The real problem lies with centralized management, leadership, check-in, and concierge. Policies were inflexible, empathy was lacking, and opportunities to create a great experience were ignored. Garza Blanca is a beautiful property, but leadership and customer service missed the mark. For a resort that markets itself as luxury, this was deeply disappointing.

"Wonderful service"

Going to any Garza Blanca resort is always a wonderful time because of the consistent quality of their service. We stayed at the Los Cabos and Jamie at NOI was our favorite restaurant server. Pacheco upstairs at the adults only pool was my top pool server. The butler services that Aaron and Omar provided were amazing and make everything so easy. We will be going back again soon!

"Hotel Went Way Downhill"

This once great hotel has gone way downhill. We came here two years ago - it was awesome. The staff literally couldn't say "no" to you. Everything was perfect. Now, it's a mess. Example: back then you had a "butler" that would take care of dinner reservations for you. That's been replaced by the concierge. But the concierge tells you that all the restaurants are all booked - every night. When you complain, they suggest joining the "Tafer Exclusive Club" (code for buying a timeshare) so you don't have those problems. But the same goes for getting beds by the pool and seemingly everything else. Here's the kicker: the restaurants aren't booked - there's plenty of tables. It almost like the concierge tells you they're booked so they can sucker you into the timeshare tour. It's really no way to treat your guests. This has been a sad disappointment from the great hotel we visited just two years ago.

"DISAPPOINTED"

We could not be more disappointed. Essentially, unless you are a “member” (timeshare), then you don’t get any of the amenities like Butler or dinner reservations. We stayed here last August, and without being memebers, we were treated like royalty. The level of service has really fallen below the bar, which is unfortunate. Good luck eating dinner anytime before 9pm if you’re not a member.

"Wonderful resort experience!"

We had an absolutely amazing time for the week of Christmas. The staff is amazing. Our butlers Aaron and Omar were able help with all our reservations-dinner, bikes, cooking classes, shuttle, beach chairs. They also gave great tips and recommendations to help get the most out of our experience. They really gave top notch service and elevated our entire experience. Our kids, ages 5 and 7, had so much fun going between the beach and the pools. The beach was so beautiful, I can’t wait to go back!

"Another great experience"

We just departed from another amazing week at Garza Blanca Los Cabos. Thank you to the amazing staff for making our Christmas week so nice. "Christmas 2025 in Cabo"

We had an amazing time celebrating Christmas 2025 at Garza Blanca in Cabo, Mexico. The resort is amazing; top notch location and amenities. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Special shoutout to Ulises and Leonardo, our butlers for the week. They went above and beyond their duties to ensure that our vacation was perfect for our family of 14. We had some changes that they made for us that were greatly appreciated. They were always available and very prompt with our requests. Couldn’t have asked for anyone more attentive. Thank you to you both. You immediately made us feel like family. Garza Blanca resort is beautiful; the location, hospitality and food were on point. The location is amazing; whale watching from the resort cannot be understated. The hospitality was top notch, everyone was so welcoming. The authentic Mexican food was amazing; chilaquiles for breakfast, ceviche and tacos at the pool with amazing drinks and dinner. We were fortunate to enjoy every restaurant at the resort. All different but so delicious. Noi, great Italian cuisine. Hiroshima, a Japanese inspired menu. Bocados, a steakhouse. Blanca Blue, a Mexican menu. Every one of the restaurants was serving delicious menus. Not one complaint from anyone, not even our most picky eaters. There were great option for everyone. I wouldn’t ever hesitate to return, hopefully sooner than later. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for making this family’s 2025 Christmas perfect. See you soon. "Exceptional and Memorable Experience"

The location in Los Cabos is beautiful and pristine. We were impressed and delighted by the exceptional customer service, attention, responsiveness, and friendliness of everyone. The rooms, restaurants, pools and beach are immaculate! The bedding and linens are plush and luxurious. The food is fresh and authentic. The hospitality impeccable. It’s a family friendly resort, but quiet between 10pm and 10 am. Our Butler, Daniel provided exceptional service, attentiveness, and incredible thoughtfulness throughout our whole visit. We were truly delighted and grateful to find our room filled with flowers, balloons, chocolates, and wine celebrating our wedding anniversary! He made our memory even more special. Raul (Food Truck) provided us exceptional personable service for 2 days in a row. Raul remembered our drink preferences, and recommended new local dishes and drinks with authentic Mexican ingredients that became our new favorites (Shrimp ceviche el Mexicana!). He was knowledgeable and professional and shared meaningful stories about local and familial food traditions. Marco and Andreas (Hiroshi) exceptional personable service…so great we came back the next night. Marco and Andreas had expert knowledge about every one of the dishes, the origin of the ingredients, and the Chef’s expert preparation and presentation. We enjoyed the meaningful stories they shared about the food and fusing with local and global seafood traditions. Tania and Luz (Spa-massage) excellent and expert service two days in a row. We felt fully relaxed and pampered! The spa treatments and amenities including hydrotherapy, are state of the art! Maria (Room Service) excellent service through out our stay. We were never in need or want of anything, as it was always taken care of! We had excellent service and attitudes by everyone throughout our stay. We felt welcomed and valued. We will book again!

"Bad customer service"

Food is good to great. Facilities are nice and rooms are fantastic. Staff is just ok. Not genuinely pleased to have guests. There was a hotel-wide plumbing issue and we couldn’t use toilets and the restaurant at breakfast had an unclear sanitation situation. I asked for a $400 accommodation for the fact that it was all pretty gross. There no apology and an argument with the staff and they gave me $200. Not great customer service. Also the $150 resort credit is a scam it really is a 20% “discount” up to $150.

"Highly recommended"

Beautiful resort, we stayed in the 3 bedroom oceanfront, and watched the sunrise each morning from our private hot tub. Our butlers Leo and Ulises went above and beyond during our stay as they always do. The activities directors Norma and Christen were phenomenal, from riding electric bikes, karaoke, water volleyball, to playing cornhole, they always had a fun and positive attitude, was so inviting every time they seen them. Norma was a standout employee for sure.
