Nothing really great about it

We’re confirmed for an early check-in the night before our stay. When we arrived we were told our room would not be ready in time. On top of that, it wouldn’t even be ready by the standard check-in-time of 3:00 pm. We needed to get changed for a wedding so time was important yo us.

The place was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good also.

The bed was awful it was so hard that for 2 nights I got no sleep. It was like sleeping on the floor.

This was our first bad experience in a Hampton Inn. The room was clean, but the ac was noisy and smelly, there were paint flecks everywhere from a half-hearted "redo," and the overall feeling was definitely sub-par.

Breakfast, and the cleanliness of the facility

The bed was the worst part. I think the floor would have been softer. I have never stayed in a bed as hard as the one I slept in at this hotel. My group had three separate rooms and we all complained about how hard the beds were. The place was very clean, there are definitely some maintenance issues if you look hard enough, but they do try to keep it nice you can tell. The little "store" at the front desk was empty, I bought a bottle of soda from there and it was more than other hotels I've bought from in the past. A $5 bottle of soda from the front desk, I'm used to paying less at hotels. Breakfast was great, clean, and had a nice selection of foods. The parking lot is weird, definitely could use more parking. No shortage of things to do in the evenings with plenty of restaurants and shops surrounding it literally. The staff was great!! If the bed would have been more like a mattress I would stay here again. I will not return solely on the fact that the bed was so hard.

Our last night before returning home. Once again, a stay with HHONORS points and an upgrade. Conveniently located off I-81. The room was fine and the staff, from housekeeping to desk staff ws very friendly. We checked the breakfasts offerings and decided to get on he road and find something.

It was so dirty. Hair all over the bed when we checked in. Stains all over the couch. Room in disrepair.

Meh. The hotel is older and has definite wear-and-tear. The curtain in our room was torn, but the blind keeping out the light was fine. The mattress was older and needs to be replaced, but wasn’t miserably uncomfortable - just old. The commissary/snacks to go area had very (very) few items stocked. We were hoping for some water to take to our room and the only thing available was Red Bull. Not a terrible experience, but when in Harrisonburg again we will absolutely stay somewhere a little newer/updated. It served its purpose for our 1 night - so there’s that.

We were heading through town, found ourselves there while a game was going on, and few rooms were available. Nichole and Prakash were very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our room. We were thrilled!
