Hampton Inn Harrisonburg - University

The area was fine but the elevator was constantly down, the staff failed to replenish shampoo and soap in the room, despite repeated requests. The front desk was rude and indifferent. We will unlikely stay here again unless no other options available

Room was filthy. Bedding on pull out was dirty & I had to redo the bed. Bathroom was dirty had to clean myself.

The only issue was the age and condition of the hotel. Old and moldy shower curtain, cracked floor tiles in elevator, “scratchitti” on elevator walls. The price was right, but this place is probably next in line to get knocked over.

Arrived put on the 3rd floor and the elevator was not working. Tv didn’t work! It would turn on and turn off but could not change the channel therefore we only had the weather channel and no Netflix to connect to. SHOWER… scolding or cold there was no in between. Def will NEVER stay at this Hampton Inn again.

Room needed to have repairs made. Curtains and blinds need to be replaced.

Staff and location are excellent. The condition on the property is very dated.

Furniture tattered. No lighting at desk. TV remote in bad shape.

We have stayed at this hotel several times now since we have a freshman at JMU. This hotel is in a great location, close to everything! The staff is always very nice and accommodating, and breakfast is always good too. We needed a different room last minute on our last stay, and they were very kind and got us what we needed. We really appreciate them making our stay perfect!

We typically love Hampton Inn and choose them because of the quality. Unfortunately, the standards at this particular Hampton were well under the normal. The water in the shower could not be regulated… either scaling hot or ice cold and changed without warning. Which meant that I couldn’t get product out of my hair, or brush it fully. Left the inn with my hair wet. Talked to the front desk…they said they were aware of the problem with the water and actively fixing it. The bed wasn’t up to standards either. The mattress was old and had a curved which caused you to stay in the middle. Coffee maker didn’t work… Breakfast… banana and oranges had black spots all over them. Coffee … hmm something was wrong with the creamer.. looked like glue. And I said something to the lady next to me and she said the same. Plan B… Use milk… hmm didn’t know if I could trust it. The yogurt next to the milk was sitting in water. NO breakfast, coffee or shower for me. I don’t usually complain, things happen, but things kept adding up. They did call us after we left and gave a us a twenty dollar discount and extra points. I don’t think twenty dollars replaces a shower, breakfast, coffee and a good nights sleep.
