Rydges Lakeland Resort Queenstown

On arrival ,no help with luggage from car to reception as per many hotels we have stayed in. Girl on reception/check in not at all welcoming. Asked about parking our car,Told free parking out on the street (good luck with that) or $25 per day)Limited spaces due to hotel refurbishment (Badly needed). “Here’s your room key”Basically go and find it yourself. Booked a balcony room.Got a key to level 2 with a shared balcony,Not what we booked Back to reception.Given level 4.Great view.Do not accept room 404 before entry door is fixed as it lets enough light through to let you think you have left a light on or haven’t closed the door properly. Be aware there is a conference room on level 5 and can be a little noisy. Room small and needs an upgrade (apparently near future) Not enough storage space for 2 on a longer stay,shower in the bath ,not acceptable. Buffet breakfast well worth it and that staff were excellent every day. Housekeeping unpredictable. Location fantastic though balcony rooms do incur road traffic noise. Not entirely satisfied being under the Rydges brand,having stayed at others in various countries. Look forward to hotels managements generic response.

Close to everything, normal hotel noises, nice bed.

3 night stay nice place easy flat walk to town 5 minutes. Shower bit tight

Great view of lake. Found out on checkin there was no parking -had to pay $25 per day.

Rooms were good and hotel is in a good location with an easy stroll into town.

Beautiful views from the my room and the dining room, I’d say the best views from a hotel in Queenstown. I’m thinking of coming back for a summer holiday.

Staff excellent on check in. Hotel sowing its age a little. Very convenient to Queenstown city centre
