Overall property needs updating and cleaning. Bathroom toliet had brown stain, carpet dirty, balcony filthy from long term lack of maintenance.

When I first arrived there was no one available to check me in. There was a hand written note stating they would be back in 20 and to wait. I waited over 20 minutes. When the motel employee finally he was not friendly or didn't communicate with me during the process. There seemed to be a problem with the check in process. When I asked him if there were any issues he said yes and he was fixing it. After 15 minutes he said since I arrived after the check in time that they could no longer give me my room. Keep in mind I paid in full for the stay and just got off of a flight from California. Even though I got there after the check in time that shouldn't have matter since I already paid in full. Not only did he refuse to check me in he was extremely rude and kept yelling in my face saying it wasn't his fault that I was late. I've never had this happen to me. This was the worst experience I've had.

I stayed at the Sonesta ES Central from July 10–13, 2025, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The condition of the room was extremely disappointing. The couch was heavily stained—so much so that I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on it. The carpet was worn and discolored, with some areas appearing almost black from age or dirt. The room had a constant smoky, damp smell that made it feel musty and unclean. One of the towel sets provided was visibly dirty, and the bedding had stains on both the sheets and top covers. The second bedroom had black spots on the ceiling, which raised concerns about possible mold. The property itself also seemed poorly maintained. The market was nearly empty—just a lone pack of cough drops on the shelf—and the pool was green and unusable the entire weekend. Parts of the walls were peeling and falling apart. They do advertise free breakfast, but unless you’re there right at the start, you’re out of luck. Food ran out quickly and wasn’t replenished. The only positive aspect of this stay was the friendly front desk staff and the hotel’s convenient location to local attractions. However, that’s not nearly enough to make up for the poor conditions and overall discomfort. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

The location and the price

I recently started staying at Sonesta and thought that it was a great deal but this experience has made me reconsider options in the future with both Sonesta and with booking.com I did not get a room with a balcony like I booked. The sheets were dirty. The tv was broke. The night customer service would not get up from his seat and stayed on his phone the whole time. On numerous occasions, I was told someone would come out to fix something and the next day, they said they did not receive a work order and the maintenance guy would not be in that day. The staff blamed booking.com and said that they could not do anything since it was booked with a 3rd party vendor, etc. it was a very busy weekend for me and I was exhausted after a long drive. It was totally not acceptable.

Everything in the room was dirty. When I first walked in it smelled awful and the couch and floors smelled like urine. There were no face towels and the whole experience was terrible. I asked the person at the front desk for a different room & they said they were all booked & I asked to cancel my two nights & the lady refused to do it even after I showed her the pictures of the room.

friendly property manager John is great. He help accommodate me with all my needs and was there to make sure I was comfortable and happy with things like this is why I come back.
