Staybridge Suites - Columbus - Worthington, an IHG Hotel

staff was wonderful. My only real complaint was that the stove did not work. I picked this hotel precisely because it featured a full kitchen. There was no oven, only a cooktop which did not work. We were offered the chance to use a stove on an empty room upstairs, but my husband thought that too inconvenient.. either the food would be cold by the time we took it back or we had to bring everything up to the other room. A Microsoft outage meant the manager was not sure of which rooms on our floor were empty, he just knew there was an empty one on the third floor. There were stations for luggage racks on every floor, but we only ever saw one cart and it was gone between the time we went down to our car and came back to try and grab it. One cart is no where near enough for 3 floors of rooms! Also, if people keep taking them, then you need to have staff keep track of them. Disappointed that pool did not open until 9AM and closed at 9PM, would have liked 7AMor 8AM -10PM. Rooms were clean and partially updated. Rugs were universally old and stained. There was a big stand up air conditioner in the central room of our suite, with a hose out the window. It did keep things cool, but was a bit strange. Breakfast was nice. There were scrambled eggs and sausage both days. The first day premade omelets were an option, the second day it was sausage and bisquits. My son and several other kids were disappointed not to have waffles, but there were plenty of otheroptions.

The pull out bed in our suite was broken and had food crumbs under the pull out mattress. The pull out couch needs to be replaced.

Rooms were clean, but property is run down. We didn't get the room we reserved and check I took 25 minutes.

Nice hotel and able to accommodate my family. Pool and complementary breakfast was a plus.

It was a great experience with hotel staff but the coffee maker had coffee filter in it with super old coffee that had half of the filter grown with mold on top! Room needed some definite repairs. Garbage disposal dosent work at all, paint bubbling in places, trim missing on floor around closet area in bathroom. It’s a very nice hotel. But the workers definitely need to step up the cleaning and breakfast was completely empty and hour before it was over. People waiting on food to come out to eat and feed their children.

The outside of property looks great the inside is getting really run down. Deadbolt did not work and never got towels we requested. The breakfast was awful and with in first 20 min everything was empty.

Check in was at 3. Arrived at 4pm. Waited until just after 5pm to get room as house keeping had not cleaned room yet. Room in poor shape, floor not properly cleaned. Had to wait for towels from dryer. Found garbage and a battery on floor, baseboard door stopper laying on ground (broke off door). Stains on walls, remotes missing back covers. Window screens shredded, table and chairs had splatters. Tub surround moldy, toilet wobbly. Did not feel safe placing my crawling baby on floor (2 bedroom suite rented) due to cracked flooring and baseboards. The front desk clerk was working by herself and tried her best but this is a reflection of poor upkeep and attention to cleaning details and poor general maintenance of rooms.

The rooms were dirty, paint was missing from the walls, a window didn't close, the deadbolt on the room door didn't lock, no hot warm, the air conditioner didn't work properly, smelled of cat urine and weed in hallways.

Not impressed. To keep it short, the water in my room never got hot, or even warm, so I took a cold shower 7/8 days I stayed here. The 1 day my shower got barely warm, it would go luke warm for about 10 sec, then cold for 10, then luke warm for 10, then cold again for 10 over and over. I also tried taking showers at all times of the day to see if that would help. I addressed this with the front desk and the shorter, heavier girl with dark hair basically told me too bad and to just live with it. The other taller, skinnier girl with lighter hair was willing to try and help. So she sent a man who spoke no English to my room to fix it. He came in, turned the "hot" water on and felt it, then walked out without a word. I hollered at him down the hallway to ask what the plan was and he just said "yes". Still no hot water, and no real concern and effort. My room keys stopped working and the front desk (another shorter, heavier, dark hair girl) just acted annoyed at me because I couldn't get into my room (as she was on her personal cell phone chatting with a friend). The first night, none of the buildings doors key accesses worked, and no one could get in to their buildings. There was a large amount of pretty gross long dog hair all throughout my room. I could tell the silverware had not been washed from the last guest. And there were just a handful of other things during my 8 night stay. The positive: the large pillows and the large TV's. Conclusion: I won't ever stay here again. If I were IHG I wouldn't want this place associated with my name. I left a review on their website a month ago and haven't heard anything from them as a follow up.
