Courtyard by Marriott Oxford City Centre

Met up at the hotel this morning with Laure. A fabulous meeting point right in the heart of Oxford City Centre. Laure looked after me very well and on the termination of our meeting I was presented with hotel cooked cookies. Wow it doesn't get much better than this.

As someone in the industry I’m fussy when it comes to booking a hotel and I cannot fault this one everything was perfect and easy and immaculately clean

It was clean and comfortable.

I booked this hotel specifically because it advertised parking. I searched for a hotel using the parking filter. After booking, I received a message that the hotel does not actually have parking, but that parking is in a shopping centre five minutes away. It cost £38 for 24 hours. A few days before visiting, I received a message telling me that the parking is in the charge zone and as a result of the hotel not having parking as advertised, I had to pay multiple congestion charges. A good central location, but take the train.

We had to wait an hour to check in (and it was after 3 pm) as the room was not available. Staff were very apologetic and offered us complimentary drinks, but would have been good to have access to the room

The hotel is located in the heart of Oxford. The biggest drawback is the lack of on-site parking. The hotel recommends leaving your car at the Westgate Shopping Centre car park, which is not an ideal solution. Although the shopping centre is close to the hotel, the entrance to the car park is located on the opposite side, making access less convenient. In addition, the car park is often completely full. The absence of a valet parking service is difficult to understand, especially given the hotel's central location. The rooms are perfectly adequate, as are the breakfasts—exactly what you would expect from a Courtyard by Marriott. However, the staff seemed less friendly and welcoming than at other hotels within the same brand.
