At arrival, the building was beautiful to behold- unbeknownst to us, it would hold a number of things that wouldnt quite match the outer beauty of the building. The staff were friendly enough, and the overall vibe in the lobby was cozy and gave a vintage vibe. After acquiring our keys, we made our way up the tiny (but charming) elevator and up to our room on the third floor. We arrived and opened our room door. The smell.of chamomile hung heavily in the air- but it wasnt unpleasant, just overpowering. It smelled old but not unclean. After closer inspection, we noticed that the door didnt even have an extra lock! How were to we to feel safe if we were going to leave our valuables here and sleep overnight without an extra security measure? We feel this should be implemented in all the rooms. The water pressure in the bathroom was very low and had a weak stream. The room overall was unbearably hot, and even though we opened the window, it made no difference. There was also no phone. Although no life threatening emergencies occured, we felt that there should be a phone if we needed additional help.

"Excellent stay at Imperial hotel"

10.0

Just returned from a lovely holiday at this hotel. We found everything at this hotel was very good. The room we had was a good standard and serviced every day by housekeeping.Every meal we had in restaurant was well presented and good quality also good portions, service was first class.Entertainment in the evening was worth watching, drinks prices reasonable. All the staff we found very pleasant and helpful. The manager does a good job running this hotel very well.He helped out in every department ,calling bingo, collecting glasses, helping out in restaurant. We have stayed at quite a few of Daish’s hotel and in our opinion this is number one.Well done everyone. "Another lovely stay."

8.0

My partner and I have just returned from a Daish's coach holiday at The Imperial Hotel, having stayed there on a few occasions. Our room (99) was spacious with a large adapted wet room specifically for those with a disability. The twin beds were rather creaky and a little small for us, but that's because we're used to having a double each at home. The food in the restaurant was varied and nicely presented. A special Thank you to Elvira our waitress during this stay. She is a definite asset to the Hotel, efficient, welcoming and hard working. We only have a game of bingo as the entertainment is not really for us, but there's plenty to do in the evening in Eastbourne. We went on the day trip to Battle and Hastings and found this enjoyable., and went for the day to Brighton on the bus, such a colourful and vibrant place. Thoroughly enjoyed this break in Eastbourne, a good crowd from the West Midlands. Thank you to each and every member of staff who made our stay an enjoyable one.....keep up the good work

"Outstanding holiday"

10.0

On the last night of our holiday at Eastbourne and gotta say of all the numerous holidays we have had with Daish's this is by far the best ever!! Our room was outstanding , so spacious with a wet room all recently renovated , really impressed . The staff were so lovely right from the start couldn't do enough to help you and were down to earth but still professional. The food was great , really tasty and we enjoyed every meal and gotta give a massive thank you to Elvira who looked after in the dining room a lovely lady lady who grafted everyday we were there. So all in all gotta thank everyone at the Imperial Hotel for giving us a fantastic few days holiday and would highly recommend this place to family and friends THANK YOU 😊

"Great Holiday"

10.0

Great holiday air show on in Eastbourne with the wonderful red arrows made our week, hotel in great position, rooms with hairdryer and fan we’re spotlessly clean , only downside was shower cubicle really needs replacing to small & struggle to turn around in it and we are not big people and water flow not good , but that was only thing to complain about , food excellent hot & varied served , with a smile, entertainment good , but Quiz to difficult, staff all helpful. We will be returning.

"The hotel was perfectly acceptable and quite adequate."

8.0

I was visiting Eastbourne for a weekend away and for the Air Show which is not being held at Bournemouth this year as the Council will not pay their £350k contribution to the costs even though the show brings in over £1M to the town. I booked this hotel because it was the last one with a vacancy and still had to take a twin bedded room. The room was a reasonable size and clean and tidy with a hair dryer and most important in hot weather an electric fan! The shower room was clean and tidy and reasonably modern and everything worked properly. So based on my room I cannot understand so many bad reviews about this hotel;. It looks clean and tidy from outside and the reception are is also fine. Go downstairs to the ballroom and everything is fine there as well. I have stayed in several Britannia hotels which are way way worse although far cheaper as well. The Imperial was about the most expensive of all the large hotels in Eastbourne but the only one with a room still available. I did not eat their breakfast because it needed to be booked the evening before and was only for one hour from 8.30am on the Sunday. Instead slightly cheaper at a cafe on the main street close by with a table on the pavement which was nice. The evening entertainment was good and our dancing was complimented on by the receptionist and by the couple who sang the songs. The hotel is one of about 12 owned by a coach holiday company primarily to house their holiday clients but avaiable for stays by anyone else as well.

The Hotel specialises in coach tours. Many of their reviews are quite bad. But our room was clean. Spacious and well equipped. Only criticism is mains sockets near beds have been removed so cannot charge phones beside the beds.
