The Westin Resort Guam

Wonderful Stay! This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I especially enjoyed Club Lounge and Taste. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

the cost

Club lounge is very poorly managed. It used to have food and drinks from 5 pm to 7 pm. Now cut in 2 seating of one hour each. Run out of food in 15 minutes. Management can’t seem to predict the amount of food. Hotel is in complete disrepair. It is an embarassment to Marriott. I am Surprised that they keep this hotel. Recommend to stay away. Try Crowne Plazza instead

Has a Westin name badge but really Four Points service levels. I arrived and as ambassador level I was offered a welcome gift of either points or chocolates. Given the 1000 points dont really move the needle much I opted for the chocolates only to be told they were out of them. Ok whatever. Next morning I wake up super early and I find I have a coffee maker in the room but no coffee. Frustrating. Next day I get some coffee from housekeeping, fantastic. Following day however I only get decaf coffee, I find the housekeeper who tells me they are out of regular coffee. I said the hotel is out of regular coffee ?? She said yes, but she would triple check. Eventually I did track some down. Final straw for me was going down to the pool/beach. I couldn't find any towels. After asking the pool attentant he sends me over to a grey bin which when I walk over there is just full of dirty towels so I go back and ask again and he tells me they are out of towels. He obviously knew this went he sent me to the dirty towel bin. I ask someone else down there and yup no towels, maybe in a bit there will be some. RIdiculous. At this point I go back up to the front desk where I am offered a room towel. If that was the solution why not have them down at the pool/beach in the first place. I left feedback for the GM expecting to hear something as an Ambassador level guest but crickets, nothing. I guess if the GM doesn't care enough to hear the concerns, then it kind of explains the service level being where it is. Definately not worthy of the Westin Brand name. Hotel itself is weary but I have seen many hotels in similar shape make up for it with exceptional service. This just isnt one of those places. Marriot really needs to have some service level criteria for how the brand names are distributed.

We had a wonderful 2 nights stay at Westin as bonvoy silver member. Checkin: we were able to change our double ocean view room to a king room and move to a higher floor during checkin. They provided 4 complimentary drink coupons. We were also able to get a 2pm late checkout Room: was nicely furnished and refurbished recently. Better ammenities compared to Hilton had a seperate shower. The view from the room was amazing Location: we loved the beach and the hotel is located near all the shopping area very convenient to walk Overall we had a great stay at Westin

Good location

Elevators take forever I was stuck on my floor waiting for 20mins this wasn’t an isolated event as other people were complaining. Lobby music is really loud and you can hear it from your room

The Westin in Guam needs a change in management. The hotel is simply not functioning at Marriott or Westin levels. To start, when we entered the room, it was not clean, basic items were missing and there were visible hairs on the bed and in the bathroom. The doors to the balcony in our room were nearly impossible to move and when you got them open, it took a herculean effort to close them again. We ordered room service the first night, ordered three simple items, but managed to make mistakes on all three requiring the server to come back as many times. The food in general was so poor (and unhealthy), we finally decided to order out for the remainder of our stay. One day we decided to stay in the room to work and did not get housekeeping. We called down to get more towels and water. We had to call down again and again. After waiting 5 hours, I finally went to talk to the manager to get action. Another day, the same thing for tea bags. This time it was only 3 hours but finally had to go down. On another day, we asked for a hair dryer as one was not in the room. This took about 2 hours. On the day we got to leave for a bit, the room was "cleaned" but basics refreshed in the room. For a decent review, I only require a clean room, good shower, and soft bed. Only the bed worked out this time. Even the shower did not go above luke warm. The staff was very nice, which is the only reason this is not a 1 star rating. There is only one Marriott hotel on Guam. I have a lot of points and status with Marriott and that means a lot to me. Next time I go (once a year for a week plus), I will stay in another hotel and forego the points and status boost. That should tell you how bad the experience really was. The costs of the stay are simply not worth the hassle.
