Swan House

Location was excellant. Room was lovely. Did not offer breakfast as "can't afford a chef "! Sign in room said "can't offer breakfast but please help yourself to the complementary breakfast items. Other then a chocolate bar there were NONE. Not even any tea bags or milk for a cup of tea first thing! Felt this was really poor. Could not address to manager as we left early morning.

Very clean. We were in seths room right at the top. Very oldy worldy. Would def stay again. Great location

Bed comfy and good location.

No car parking , a sewer like smell as you entered the accom block and in the bathroom that was very odd - It was a wet room where after using the shower the whole room and floor would be wet for hrs , no where to put ur toiletries in the bathroom either. Tv was a nice size but freeview signal kept breaking up so not really watchable. The room could also have benefited from a rug to make the whole wooden floor more cosy. Also a bright light shining through from the courtyard into one of the rooms window and had to block it out at night by hanging a towel over the blind. Staff not over friendly, had to figure out where the lights to the bathroom were and wi Fi password , had to ask for towels as well !!

There was no breakfast and no one to contaqct in the morning to enquire where to eat. The contact with a member of staff was minimal and not interested. The room was not the one we viewed on booking.com (mistake at the time as now correct?) This seems to me a booking.com mistake which would be good if you could reply to? We had expected three beds and on the same level in the photo. In our 80s we don't do ladders and prefer our own beds. We also may have had our daughter with us who is not strong, so we would never have booked this room as it didn't suit. In the end she couldn't come as not well enough, but we had to share a bed. If we'd know the room was like this we could have rebooked with just a double room at a more reasonable price. Finally and most unpleasant of all, there were little bugs in the bed. I counted several live and found a couple crushed in the morning. They looked like carpet beetles looking online and they didn't bite us in the night but I suspect the bed was not aired and the room not used for a long time. Please let the hotel know!
