Shangri-La Jakarta

The property was absolutely beautiful, I actually felt like I was in an island setting and not in a massive city. Room was fine but nothing fancy like you would expect from a 5-star, Shangrila hotel. The restaurant staff at the Horizon Club was not up to par. We waited 20 minutes for the staff to make our omelets before they even thought to mention to us that they didnt have an ingredient and thats because we had to inquire. They were nowhere to be found (keep in mind we were the only guests in the restaurant), our plates were also pilling up. We decided to put them on the table next to us to make room. They didnt clear the tables while we were there. Everything is in the details, especially when it comes to a "5-star" hotel. It was very disappointing. Beautiful hotel but customer service was far from 5 star.

The property furnishing is not that old as in others review. The hotel did a great job in maintaining the cleanliness and quality of the fittings in the hotel.

Convenient to airport, excellent service. Always a beehive of activity. Convenient to local restaurants. Enjoyed my stay in Jakarta.

Service level is very high and the staff is very kind and helpful. Our room had a good size with plenty of space and an amazing view. The pool area has a resort feeling with green areas and a big pool. We had dinner at the Italian and Japanese restaurant in the hotel which was really really good and tastey. You could taste that good quality ingredients were used. The only downside is that there were many families during our stay and the breakfast area was VERY noisy with kids running around screaming and playing. Would have been nice with an area more quiet for non kids couples. Please note that there is a mosque next door with loud prayers 4 AM in the morning on speakers and again during day. Thank you to Mr. Romy for his help and the rest of the staff for their hospitality.

Everything....the food the people the service the appearance was awesome...the front desk people can use more training they were a little stiff...not all but some.

Great service for a reasonable price. The kids pool is top notch for older kids (older than 5), but could be a bit overwhelming for a toddler. Their breakfast buffet also provides a variety of great foods (ranging from Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese and continental breakfast). As a cherry on top, they also partner with a great taxi service (Silver Bird) to take you around the city/the airport.

Great hotel- we stayed already 8 years ago at the Shangri-La. Breakfast is a must. Book a Suite- worth every Cent.
