Staff very friendly, menu expensive for basic food. Room toilet did not flush correctly not extractor or window that opened in bThroom.breakfast room where food was very cramped,

Pleasant and would return again

The young staff at reception were cheerful and helpful. Managed to get room changed to ground floor as wife has knee issues. The room was quite big with two single beds pushed together and comfortable.Windows needed a clean. It's an old manor house and parts could do with some refurbishment but in quiet location and there is paved walk through to Telford on old railway track. The tarmac drive to hotel has many potholes. Still an enjoyable stay and many pubs within short drive.

Stairs up to room had bees nest in window with all dead bees on windowsill and stairs. Quilt had a big hole in to. One girl covering reception and bar, poor thing was split in two. Not the best service, obviously needs more staff.

The room was the size of a shoe box and a dirty one at that. Ridiculous!

Property had a lovely ambience about it, staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, difficulty in parking when there is a wedding on at the hotel

This place has so much mold - visible and the smell is positively overwhelming. My husband & son got sick (vomiting, headaches, allergic eyes and runny nose.) When I told the staff they were defensive and denied it was mold and said it was 'just a bit of grease'. (Not that there would be grease on a glass and wood window, or carpet...) Felt like an absolutely toxic place, Im sure it would be condemned in the US. We couldn't wait to get out and were prepared to forfeit the cost (we had prepaid) but fortunately hotels.com worked out a refund with the hotel.

Appearance and surroundings Like the very helpful staff Comfortable room; overbath shower not usable by me-4 broken hips! The weather was atrocious but we still managed trip to David Austin

The only adverse comment I would have is there was only one plug a able for tea/coffee, and charging camera, cmptr, etc. all the rest were either not accessible behind bed or had some strange plug pattern that none of my international plug combos would work with

Staff moral very low and some front of house staff positively rude and inattentive , very poor choice of vegetarian food , not enough bar staff , often had to wait to be served, kids running around in bar and even sitting at the bar waiting to be served , the facade is lovely but the hotel does not live up to first impressions !
