Homewood Suites Dallas/Park Central

From start to finish this was the worst stay I have ever had at a Hilton property. When we arrived, the entire hotel smelled like it has just been fumigated. Once in our room, we noticed that the bathroom door had been kicked in, resulting in a clear gap in one of the door’s panels. While we considered leaving right then, we were pressed to make a family event. We left hoping the smell would disappear. It did not. The next morning we went to the lobby for breakfast. It was a disaster. The counters were covered with food debris. Though there were remnants indicating that eggs had been there at some point, there were none available, and the sausage and potatoes that were there appeared to be uncooked. I never saw anyone try them. The only bread available was two heels. The muffins were soggy. I saw two guests try one and throw them away. When I asked for assistance with the waffle maker, a staff member tried to hand me a cup of batter that someone else had left sitting on the counter. This led me to the last option: cereal. After getting a bowl of Frosted Flakes, I looked for the milk. Seeing none, I inquired about milk at the front desk. Not surprisingly by this point, I was informed that they had none. I was done. Finally, this hotel is in a much rougher area than I thought. Had I known that at the time, I would never have booked a room here. Also, while the desk staff said that the exterior doors would lock and 8:00 p.m. and we’d need our key to enter, when we arrived back at 10:30 that night, the front door was unlocked. I felt fortunate to have found a parking space near the front, as I would not have felt safe walking any distance around this hotel at night.

The facility is showing its age - worn carpets, cracks in the tile, etc. Lots of ongoing road and hotel construction in the arwa.

We chose the location for convenience but upon arrival it was not the best area. We also chose it for the hot tub, after reading the reviews and saw that it had been broken since March, thought it would fixed by May. It wasn't.

Our shower did not operate at all. Our sink barely had any water pressure. Requested maintenance to fix on night one there. No maintenance ever came by and we stayed there from Thurs-Sun. No resolution was made by front desk. Kept getting the run around. When asked for the manager, they were "traveling" and could not be reached. When I asked for the GM's card, they intentionally gave me an old GM's card I found out once I tried to reach out for resolution. Do not waste your money! Would never recommend nor stay here again.

Disappointed with our stay. We primarily went as a family vacation and specifically went for the indoor pool. However the pool was FREEZING cold and dirty, the spa out of commission. It was so cold in the pool my kids lips turned blue within minutes and could not swim. Also the property is not maintained well, lots of weeds and not in an ideal location for restaurants or shopping, many vagarants nearby. The fire alarm went off twice during our stay and we had to evacuate the building as well. The breakfast was subpar, soggy bacon. I will not be staying there again.

The staff were great! The hotel is in need of repairs. The carpet in our room was stained. The couch was in terrible condition-rips in fabric…… The fire alarm went off 2 times during our 2 night stay. The mattress was uncomfortable.

As a Hilton Honors member, we book Hilton properties having done so for many years. This is the worst property we have ever stayed. The furniture cushions were torn, cigarette burns on the sofa bed and carpet. The bathroom had a broken mirror, drawer and door which bottom dragged on the floor to open and close. It has a sofa bed, but when we didn't find the bedding/linen package in the closet, where they're normally stored, we were told it is their policy that guests request it and retrieve from the front desk. My husband described it as 'a dump'. The breakfast waffle mix and oatmeal were watered down. We had to find a nearby restaurant. It was just absolutely disappointing. We were there for our son's basketball tournament, so we didn't have to spend time at the property other than for sleeping. This property needs an overhaul - poor, cheap ownership (lack of) and definitely falls far below the Hilton brand standard.
