Moon Isle Beach Bungalow

We liked everything about our stay here! From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by Mandy (the very hospitable and warm host) and saw the beach view we knew we were going to have a relaxing and peaceful few days. The cabana was located right on the beach and we slept really well after long walks along the palm tree lined beach and swims in the sea. The breakfast and dinners were also delicious so we didn’t need to go anywhere else. It really was a tropical paradise- quiet, unspoiled and beautiful. Wonderful!

Nothing

Its location actually on a beach was its biggest asset. Walking out on to a beach, having ready access to food and drink whilst admiring the view was brilliant. It’s why you come here really. A word about the host ‘Amanda’ is necessary. She is the heart and soul of the place - wonderful.

Our room was a bit ‘tired’. The blind kept on falling down and the shower room was inclined to flood due I think to sand. The food is a bit slow not a problem when you have plenty of time to admire the view but at times it came out cold.

Staff were all very helpful when we asked anything. Room was lovely and clean and was exactly as advertised. Every meal we are at the hotel was great as well as service. Lots of sun-beds on beach to relax on. Can walk into the sea at the hotel within a few minutes. Can walk along the beach and there is lots of other restaurants and bars locally. Good air conditioning in our room which was needed due to the heat.

Wi-Fi was not good but think this was due to bad weather, was not put off by this.

Moon Isle is a very special place right on a fabulous stretch of beach in Nilaveli. We had a lovely relaxing time chilling out in the hammocks, jumping the waves in the clear blue sea, drinking cocktails at the little beach bar and eating delicious, freshly prepared food. The Deep Blue Diving Centre is on the same complex and we went on a snorkelling trip to Pigeon Island with them which we would thoroughly recommend. The guys there were fantastic. Amanda, the host, is so lovely and goes out of her way to make sure that you are happy. We had a couple of issues during our stay but Amanda did all she could to help. Her staff are also outstanding and do everything with a smile. The rooms are basic but this is part of the charm. There are a few little shops for snacks on the main road which is about a 10 minute walk. You can also pick up a tuk tuk from the main road if you want to go further afield. We loved it here & will definitely be back!

Our host Mandy was so welcoming and warm. She does her best to fulfil the wishes of her guests. The staff is friendly and helpful, the premises our lovely, the beach is beautiful and the food is delicious. We stayed in the cabaña, sleeping to the sound of the waves, which was great.

Amazing location, delicious food and an amazing host! Mandy, the host is super kind and will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. I will definitely be back!

Amazing location and amazing host!

Absolutely loved our stay here. An idyllic setting right on the beach, with the softest sand and clear blue water. The staff made our stay, all so friendly and welcoming, especially the owner Mandy. She welcomes you with open arms and makes you feel right at home, she can't do enough for you! Food is also amazing and home cooked - we ate all of our meals here over the 3 days. Highly recommend a stay!

No complaints!

This was my favourite hotel of our 2 week holiday in Sri Lanka. As soon as you arrive you see the most beautiful tropical beach, with barely anyone on it. The host, Mandy, is so kind and makes you feel so welcome. We ate every meal here in our 3 days as the food is delicious and you couldn’t get a nicer spot on the beach to have dinner. Mandy also organised a snorkelling trip to Pigeon Island for us, which was fabulous. I definitely hope to return!
