Pine Lake Resort and Banquets

Used to come here a lot as a kid and it was really cool but now they're trying to lean into being a banquet and conference destination despite the only guests being the ones that live there. Used to have a playground and mini golf course with some interesting architecture but they've taken the playground out and put useless tables on the mini golf course. They're no longer up keeping or running the game room. They painted the Aztec inspired architecture a dull dark gray and called it renovation, along with replacing sconces with harsh led lights and no sconce shades, but otherwise no actual updates. Lots of trash and spills left by guests in common areas that were never cleaned up throughout the entirety of my stay. Our comforters had stains on them including what looked to be dried blood, there were stains on the lampshades and curtains, the tv in our room only got 4 channels - it didn't even get the guide channel or any regular tv watching channel. The toilet in our room was extremely difficult to flush. Bar, restaurant, hot tub, and game room were all closed. They had three Ecolab trucks there while I was checking out which is somewhat concerning. Overall seems to be an empty shell of what it once it once was, the tiny bit of money they're putting into it is going to the wrong things for sure.

Price was pretty good. Room was clean. A/C worked great. Needs to be updated. Hot tub was not working. No coffee pot in room, but they had one in lobby.

I felt like I was in the twilight zone mixed with the Flintstones. Dark grey stucco everywhere. Balconies that open to a public walkway filled with trash. Filthy bathtub. Garbage cans that must not have been cleaned in months. Hole in the wall where smoke alarm should be. Carpet and bottom of walls and elevator in public space was gross. We wanted to go to the pool and hot tub but the hot tub didn't work and with the filth of the hotel in general, we didn't want to risk the pool either. Advertised as having a bar but it was a dark space along with other dark empty spaces in the hotel. Planters along the wlakways with just dirt n them. The pictures do not show the reality of what this place actually looks like. You could hear conversations in the next room as if they were in the same room with you. Oh, and the toilet took literally 3 minutes to complete a flush with loud water running the whole time. I can honestly say this was the worst looking hotel I have ever stayed in. If it weren't so late when we got there, I would have turned around and left and gladly paid to stay somewhere else. We were afraid to touch anything and would not even think of taking a shower in the disgusting bathtub.

Good place for a stopover stay

We did a quick weekend getaway with our kids this past weekend. We had to arrive later and upon check in the 2 rooms we requested to be connected were almost on opposite sides of the hotel. Until I had them triple check, I will say however that the hotel was not full and there were plenty of rooms available so I'm not sure what the issues was. We unfortunately ended up with I side atrium rooms with no window other than a strange sliding glass door that looked at the wall across the way so there was no natural light. We made due since we were going to be out and about and the rooms were purely for a place to land. The beds were very uncomfortable unfortunately but it was clean. The breakfast left much to be desired with the brown and serve sausages and over hard eggs. There was a waffle station but the muffins etc looked to be just left every day and still there the next day. The pool is a decent size but it appears there was a heating issue because the hot tub is not open and the pool was COLD! the hotel is going through renovations so there was a lot not open. This isn't stated anywhere on any site so I'm leaving this here. There was only one ice machine that we could tell and the vending machines are hidden, thankfully we know to bring room snacks so we the vending machines are usually overpriced. It will be interesting to see what the place looks like after the renovations and we may come back after they are done.

There’s a reason why it’s cheaper than almost any other property in the area. It was decent as long as you go into it with realistic expectations.

Sleeks and is dirty
