Mountain Retreat Hotel

Clean and comfortable.

When checking in I asked to be on the quiet side of the building away from the highway and was accommodated which was great. Upon entering the room we noticed the TV remote and blow dryer were broken. We were able to get the remote changed out at the front desk. When trying to get our door fobs reswiped for our room, it was around check-in time so the only staff member that was on was very busy. Best to have a couple staff on at that time.

We had a very good stay at the Mountain Retreat. We were visiting family in Squamish and the property was only minutes away from everyone. The staff were particularly friendly and welcoming.

It was quiet even though it was quite full

Front desk worker made me go to a different floor to get a cot instead of bringing it to our room. When we initially entered our room there was a strong cigarette smell. The rooms was advertised as nonsmoker. The front desk worker gave me spray to pray the room instead of doing themselves or giving us a new room.

Not Good Not Bad

It was close to squamish.The room was clean but the reception area was dark and uninviting.The staff were not efficient except for the manager he was very hood

Never cleaned my room once or replaced towels during my 5 night stay. Had to put my garbage and towels in the hallway to get them addressed and had to catch housekeepers in the hallway to ask for towels. Additionally, the pool was disgustingly dirty. The blue tile at water level was so grimy it was nearly white and people had 'carved' their initials into the grime . Also the pool ladder broke and cut my leg as I was exiting the pool, there was no attempt at repair and the other pool ladder was also broken with only one rung remaining.

Our hair dryer was broken. Front desk staff said it takes more than 1 hour to get new one because he is very busy. I met maid on the way out, so asked it and she said 5-10 mins to get new one. But nobody replaced it until I checked out the next day. Generally, it's good. This is not expensive one, don't expect too much!

A few complaints. Cable was only available in the living room, and not the separate bedroom. The bathroom light flickered enough to give an epileptic a seizure and the on site restaurant was delicious but expensive. Almost $100 for 2 kids and 2 adults.
