Dunraven Arms Hotel

Louis the proprietor was very accommodating when I contacted the Dunraven arms to organise a retirement meal for a group of people. Everything was made easy from start to finish. Food was fabulous as was the service on the night. I couldn’t recommend the Dunraven highly enough.

Beautiful surrounds and setting.

We had a family celebration at the Dunraven at the end of May with over 40 of us staying in the hotel. I cannot thank the wonderful staff at the hotel enough for making it such a special occasion. They showed great professionalism in helping us with all details of the celebration in advance, the drinks reception, the dinner and the rooms, etc. The staff were particularly kind to any family member with mobility difficulties and they went out of their way to provide ground floor rooms, a wheelchair and extra help when needed. We would highly recommend the Dunraven for family get togethers; there is something for every age group - the garden became a football pitch for the younger cousins! And then of course Adare is such a lovely village to walk around. The advantage of the Dunraven is that you just walk out of the hotel and you are in the centre of the village in a couple of minutes. And the hotel itself is so pretty with lots of old world charm.

This was my 8th hotel during 2 weeks f traveling in Ireland, so my expectations had already been set high. This was our most expensive hotel and the only one that was dissapointing. On the positive side, the Dunraven bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and Adare was convenient for our departure to Shannon airport, so it served its purpose. And we appreciate the breakfast cooked to order. We found limited dining options, but the cafe across the street was great for quick takeaways and provided non dairy options. We understand that many of the hotels do not have refrigerators, but we expect a coffee pot and tea kettle so that we can ease into the morning before getting dressed and going to the dining room for breakfast. Many of our hotels had old charm but very well maintained. Although our rooms were clean, the property could use some maintenance, particularly the carpets. Adare was a cute town to pass through for a quick stop, however if you’re looking to stay close to Shannon airport I’d recommend Ennis where there are more dining options, shopping and sites.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dunraven. Room was spacious, meticulously clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed we slept on in our 3 week trip. Short walk to restaurants and bar. Highly recommend!

THe check in was very very slow due to there only being one person on reception to check you in. Additionally booking for dinner also had to go through reception. That said the room was superb

Beautiful building, the room was lovely & well-appointed. Service was helpful - and the breakfast in the restaurant was really great. Would definitely recommend.

The sandwich in the bar was lovely and food in restaurant was lovely except the desserts could do with a rethink. I’ve had better breakfasts in other places. The bedroom was a nightmare, a lovely room but no curtains and with emergency lights on in bathroom all night the room was very bright all night! Didn’t get any sleep so unfortunately won’t be back.

Overall it is a great place with good accommodations, nice pub, and great food. Only negative was that the rooms were warm and no fans.
