Kunming Jin Jiang Hotel

Administration a bit chaotic and hotel denied existence of booking at first. Other guests had the same experience. Chinglish on lift instructions completely wrong. Location excellent and food very acceptable. Room large and very adequate. Could have done with an iron. As elsewhere in China, great shortage of electric sockets. Very good value for money. Desperately need their booking system sorted out.

Overall pleasant stay. Like convenient location in city. However room could have been cleaner.

A lovely hotel in a prime location .. As a 4 star hotel the bedrooms ( mine anyway) is slightly in need of a refurbishment .. But .. It is still great value for money . The hotel ( reception / lounge area / restaurants ) are to the highest standard. Anyone staying there should visit the revolving restaurant on the 23rd floor, I can vouch for the buffet breakfast and buffet lunch , as value for money and a choice which should be suitable for most western diners. The staff .. Excellent .. 5 stars all the way .. Special thanks to Ms G....( manageress) ( she has very good English if you only speak English) QUESTION How do you judge a Hotel ?? Best way is ask yourself would you stay there again? ANSWER .. Yes .. Note . The bus from Kunming Airport to Kunming arrives and departs from the hotel grounds ..

We only had a night at this hotel. The reception couldn't find our booking initially but managed to sort it out after 15 minutes. I didn't find the service to be particularly smooth.

We stayed in Block B of the hotel. Room carpet floor was wet and room smelled mouldy. We called the receptionist who informed us that the cleaners have scrubbed the carpet and wet it so we just need to leave it dry (which is ridiculous cause it makes the room smell). Location is pretty good, near to railway station and a couple of restaurants, and a taxi can take you to a large shopping area (dong ping pedestrian street) for around ¥10 which is good. The hotel also provides tour service (bus & food) to Stone forest but you have to book a day before (about ¥500). However we decided to go ourselves by bus which overall costs much cheaper and more worth it cause we can spend as much time as you like and the place is massive (the tour only gives about two hours). Don't forget to go to a food stall that sells really good and cheap soup noodles by the minor stone forest area. Overall recommend for 2 nights max. due to room condition and cost.

Booked for 7 nights. Last 4 nights air con not cooling. They put a mini fan in my room still very warm. Stinged by the long leg mosquito very itchy.The front desk don't even bother to change room. Booked at your own risk. Look grand but taste plain. But this chain hotel at tongren is great.

The Kunming Jin Jiang Hotel is conveniently located on Beijing Road within a 5-10 walk of the Kunming train station, airport shuttle stop and metro system. Our double room was comfortable with an excellent hot water shower. The breakfast buffet had a reasonable range of Chinese and Western dishes. Overall good value for money.

Location is good. It's close to railway station and bus station and to a bunch of dining areas. This hotel is next to the night market. The room is just ok. It's at "B" building (older building ). The room size is good. The bathroom size is small. The room is clean. The bed sheet is clean as well.

I was out /most of the times ,but very convenience and close to the train station,airport bus.
