Arriving to be asked for passport or driving licence when I said I wasn't aware I needed to show this I was asked for my bus pass obviously looked rough that day as am only 55 getting in the lift the smell of cannabis was over powering rooms are very dated and I wouldn't say dirty but attention to detail would have been nice hairs on sheets and in bathroom coming in and out of reception you could smell cannabis and I think from what locals have told me the owner has basically run the place to the ground and won't spend any money on it so basically using it as a HMO....3 nights we stayed and on the final evening we had to change rooms as the TV gave up the ghost along with half the hotel as reception had a list as long as your arm with every room that had no tv

Appalling hotel. Stayed for (thankfully) one night as attending a concert. Absolute rip off. Noisy, couldn’t sleep, rooms not updated since the 1970s, stained bath…I could go on. Avoid staying here at all costs. Couldn’t get out of there quick enough.

Clean Bedding, but the Hotel Needs Refurbishment Our stay at Britannia Hotel Coventry was a mixed experience. The hotel appears quite dated, and many areas seem to be in need of refurbishment. While we understand that older properties require ongoing maintenance, it was disappointing to be allocated a room that appeared unfinished and in need of repair. We were travelling with a toddler, and our bathroom had missing tiles behind the toilet, exposing gravel and unfinished surfaces. Naturally, our little one became fascinated by it and started picking up the gravel and throwing it into the bathtub. This was not only inconvenient but also raised concerns about the condition and safety of the room. The bed was another issue. Although the bedding was exceptionally clean and fresh, the mattress felt very old and worn. We could clearly feel the springs through the mattress, which made sleeping less comfortable than expected. On a positive note, the housekeeping team deserves recognition. The room was clean, and the bedding was spotless, which we genuinely appreciated. The cleanliness standards were much better than the overall condition of the room. Britannia Hotel Coventry has potential, but it would greatly benefit from updating its rooms and completing repairs before allocating them to guests. Better maintenance, modernisation, and more comfortable mattresses would significantly improve the guest experience. I hope management invests in these improvements, as the staff and housekeeping are doing a good job, but the property itself needs attention to match those efforts.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in It is extremely dirty, hasn’t been done up since it was built, the staff are rude and we were completely ripped off - we’re charged nearly four times standard rate because there was a big concert that night

Onvriendelijk personeel, oud en gedateerd, geen plattegronden met vluchtroutes. Geen schoonmaak of schone handdoek. Wastafel hing schuin.. Bedden met harde veren. Rook muf.

On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The bedroom was very clean and spacious, with plenty of tea, coffee and milk so you could enjoy a hot drink! The bed was very comfortable, providing us with a good nights sleep! We found the breakfast very good, with a good selection of hot food!

Outside was quite dated, meaning first impressions could put you off, however, once inside, very pleasant!!
