The rooms on preferred side was amazing comfortable and clean.

The food was horrible very bland. All pork no beef or turkey products nothing but pork pancakes was frozen the food was nasty… so many people complained about the food

"Don't bother staying here..."

The room was spacious and housekeeping did a great job keeping it clean and coming in for turndown service in the evening. Overall, the property was clean, even down to the public bathrooms. Housekeeping were the best staff on the property. The best food there was the angus beef burger even though the bun wasn't fresh. I booked a double bed with a pool view, but when I got there, I was told there weren't any rooms available like the one I booked so they were "upgrading" me to a preferred room with a garden view. Well, the garden view turned out to be a view of the new construction which was TERRIBLE and took away from my opportunity to relax on my balcony (no one wants to look at new construction). In addition, even though I got an upgraded room, I was not permitted to enjoy the benefits of the Preferred Room status (which was a dedicated lounge, restaurants, pool etc.) When I questioned why I couldn't get the benefits of the Preferred Room no one could answer me. This was poor customer service on Dreams Macao's behalf. I will NEVER visit this property again or refer any of my family, friends, and colleagues to this facility.

All of the food was TERRIBLE (the buffet, the restaurants we dined at, and room service). This all-inclusive resort cost too much for the quality of food that was served. I had a cheesecake that taste like turkey gravy (can't image what happened there). What was identified as butter probably was margarine and thus nasty. The apple pie didn't have apples in it but instead I'm guessing it was made with apple butter because it was brown and mushy. It was nasty. Barbecue sauce on the wings and salmon was of poor quality and didn't taste good. Whatever cooked vegetables that were offered were destroyed because they were over cooked and soggy. The salad bar (and other stations on the buffet) did not have serving utensils for each item on it, including sauces/dressings, so there was cross contamination going on. None of the salad dressings were labeled and I questioned how long they had been sitting out so I just avoid eating a salad. The cheese for nachos looked like liquid as if it was watered down and didn't taste good at all. All of the deserts and fruit looked good but lacked flavor and some of the fruit wasn't ripe. Moreover, the 24-hour cafe food options were of poor quality, and the deserts lacked flavor and tasted as if they were previously frozen. It also had some pitiful looking tuna sandwiches and cheese sandwiches, cornbread, cinnamon rolls and maybe a few other items that be might changed daily. The best part about the 24-hour Cafe was the coffee and the frappes. They had ice cream there too and that was good. Now, about the staff. They were the most unwelcoming bunch of people I have ever seen at a resort. It's as if they hate their jobs and/or hate dealing with people. I would greet each one in Spanish with a friendly smile and I would get a response back but it seemed forced. Reception never answered the phone when I called. Don't bother staying here, it's not worth the cost.

Our experience at Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana was unfortunately very negative, to the point where we had to end our stay prematurely. Overall, we were extremely dissatisfied with the level of service, the cleanliness of the resort, and most notably, the food. The quality of the gastronomy across the entire resort was simply deplorable. It wasn't just one place — the food in every single restaurant was incredibly bad, completely bland, and obviously prepared from cheap, pre-packaged ingredients. The biggest disappointment was the hotel's supposed "Italian" restaurant, which honestly should be closed down. It had absolutely nothing to do with authentic Italian cuisine. Instead of fresh, quality ingredients, we were served tasteless, processed meals, making it impossible to find anything acceptable or enjoyable to eat throughout our entire stay. To make matters significantly worse, our entire family — including our two young children — came down with a gastrointestinal illness during the stay. Given the poor quality and evident mishandling of food across all the resort's restaurants, it is hard not to draw a direct connection. This alone should be a serious warning to any family considering this hotel. The cleanliness of the facilities was equally concerning. The swimming pools were visibly dirty and poorly maintained, which completely ruined any desire to relax by the water. The service and attitude of the staff were deeply disappointing throughout the entire stay. Everything moved at a painfully slow pace, and requests were routinely ignored or handled with indifference. When we decided to cut our stay short due to our dissatisfaction and illness, I spent two agonizing hours at the reception trying to arrange a refund for the two unused nights or at the very least a transfer to another hotel within their chain. Even though the Booking.com operator explicitly approved the transfer on their end, the hotel management flatly refused to allow...
