Buchanan Arms Hotel & Leisure, Sure Hotel Collection

This hotel was a convenient stop along the West Highland Way hiking trail. The staff was friendly, but not all that helpful. The check in staff should have told us upon checking in that there was going to be live music until 11:00 just below our room. We were jet lagged and wanted to sleep early, and the music went for 3 hours. The toilet and sink were not working properly, even with someone coming to service them. The carpet in the room was not clean, most likely mud from someone’s hiking boots. The manager, upon our request, did take care of our breakfast for our trouble, which was nice.

All was good, food was excellent in the dining room, wifi was very poor.

The property is old and rather run down, and we had substantial mould in one of the bathrooms. Paint is peeling in many places and left flaking on the carpets in corridors and rooms. It's a great property that needs to be looked after better.

Staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel is quite clean if somewhat shabby. It could use a thorough renovation. We had repeated problems with key cards that didn’t work. Breakfast is very traditional— eggs, bacon, sausage, beans.

Room was dated but adequate for our needs. Staff were excellent! Had a great time there.

Marco and staff made us so welcome. We had a fantastic stay. Definitely recommend the Buchanan Arms Hotel. Excellent base for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. We'll be back 👍

Location was perfect for the west Highland way Spa and gym facilities are very good. Great breakfast, and very friendly staff.

This is a nice hotel in a good location for hiking around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Two things: The live music on Saturday night is just a bit loud if you’re traveling with a kid who needs to get to sleep at, say, 9pm. Also, the rooms REALLY need blackout blinds/curtains. In summer, it’s still light in the rooms from natural light at 10pm and getting light before 5am.
