Holiday Inn Express Mentor Banquet Center by IHG

Overall good stay.

Rooms were not cleaned after previous guests' stay. As a result, our check-in was delayed several hours. Then, after staff did attempt to clean, room was still filthy.

The hotel has great potential, but some of the staff (the manager) was rude (tho the maintenance guy David was amazing!!). The first room that we were put in had a very heavy smoking smell. The manager ordered that a smell bomb be put in the air conditioner and said that there were no other rooms. That just made it perfume covered smoky smell. Eventually someone other than the manager got us into a room that wasn't smoky, but did smell a little funky (like the room was old and never had been aired out). The phones in both rooms did not work. In addition, a couple of lights were out (I let them know). And, a little thing, but totally weird...there was no conditioner (hair). Only shampoo.

Check in started at 3pm, I asked to check-in at 2:50 and front lady said no. Then after 3pm she called me to check in and was very slow, long line waiting people. Room was small no sofa bed only sofa and two queen size beds, family of 5 and only two towels.

The room was way overpriced for what it was. It seemed to be in the middle of being remodeled. There was obvious repair to the walls in the bathroom, which were primed, but not painted. There was a big water stain running down from the sprinkler over the sink. The sink didn't drain. There was missing paint on trim and missing doors on the closet. The shower must've been re-done, but the faucets were extremely difficult to figure out. There were no towel rods on the walls in the shower room. This was a suite, but the only furniture in the living area was one weird 'leather' chair, so that area only accommodated one person. The hotel itself was hard to find and way off the highway. When we found it, we had to drive back around to the back of the building to find the entrance. Overall it was an odd, unpleasant experience and we would never stay here again.

they cancelled our reservation just minutes prior to our check in time...are you kidding me?

We enjoyed our stay. The pool is very nice and the staff were very helpful.

Good hotel

Very large and spacious room with couch. Clean and had a great hot breakfast.

It was very well kept. Staff was friendly
