Short and nice

This hotel is rated as a four star. To keep the stars I thought room service had to be offered- not here. A late return from a concert meant all city restaurants were closed We tried to order a pizza from room service menu to be told room service is not available and that the menu was two years out of date. We found a request form to fix tbings in the room: this was dated 2017. All very Twilight Zone Reception staff. Offered no explanation, no service only excuses: saying only one person waon n duty the night before. (In a four-star?) Breakfast good. Morning staff the highlight; attentive, helpful and pleasant. Maybe they should take a turn on Reception. Room clean, bed comfortable. No English T.V. Air- con didn't work but you can open the windows. Good shower; gel / shampoo provided. Hotel in good location for both river and city centre.residentail area so very quite

Great hotel with friendly staff, good location very quiet area, but only 10 minutes walk to the centre of koln or 10 minutes walk to the zoo.

We ordered a double bed, what we got was two single beds pushed together. Bathroom is very small, over all the room was in good condition. Duvet cover had some small tears in it, could do with replacing

On a whole i wasn't impressed at all, first of all we were placed in the small sister hotel over road (away from the pool, when we had paid for what we though would had been the main hotel) I requested we said in the main hotel in which we were forced to join their exclusive club in order to do so, when we finally did get into our room it had no heating or hot water, then we requested a room move in which they agreed......again no heating or hot water, apparently they were doing maintenance to we had to have freezing cold showers before going out to dinner. When booking a double room for our anniversary trip we would expect a double room.... we received 2 single beds pushed together, 2 pillows which your head just sank through to the mattress, and 2 lightweight just quilt covers and when laying near the middle of the bed the 2 separate beds just parted. The bar area is extremely nicely done, but is very overpriced. We didn't hold much hope for the hotel so we didn't even entertain the pool or spa facilities as we didn't want anymore disappointment. I would travel to Cologne again most definitely as we plan a trip again next december but i will most definitely be using another hotel and I'm appreciative that i book a deal with expedia travel package rather than wasting money going direct and paying over the odds for a shoddy hotel. I travel around europe 6-7 times a year following my football team and short breaks and this is one of the worst rooms I've had

Super expensive for a very small room.

We stayed for 4 nights. The appearance, it's a clean, well presented hotel on the inside let down by a tired exterior and weird entrance that is hidden. The room was spacious with good quality bed and bedding but beyond that it's a bit spartan. Although they give you a coffee machine it's a pod affair and they only give you a couple of pods for your whole stay forcing you to buy more. Also it's just as well I drink decaf as there was only one normal coffee pod provided. The standard soap was provided as was the hair / body wash which was fine. Staff, The cleaning staff were helpful and friendly when we briefly saw them however the reception staff were disinterested, they seemed more bothered about the older couple than us, possibly as we were casually dressed coming off a flight, on check out they were similarly disinterested. Still, they were not rude so that's a bonus over some hotels I've been too. The bar staff were friendly and chatty which was nice and probably the highlight of the hotel. Facilities, there is a small pool which we looked at but did not end up using as we were out most of the time, this was included in the room price which was nice. There is also a basic gym also included. Location, probably the weakest point if you are a tourist, there are many closer hotels too the centre, if you need to cross over the river at any point don't stay here too as it's a pain. For businesses however it might be a great bet. Food, expensoce did not try

Being spoiled by Sofitel worldwide (business trips), booked this one as the same loyalty scheme. Braced myself for a 4*s experience. When arrived, showed my Platinum Card and was upgraded immediately even without asking. Nice roomy suite (by German standards, that is). Two beds formed a queen bed, coffee maker, basic bathroom. Very clean, and despite the building being somewhat old (80s style), inside the room it feels new and above average for a similar class hotel in Northern Europe. Downstairs, nice swimming pool, sauna, and so on. Breakfast didn't try, as on expensive side (€19). Room Service is OK, the menu is basic, food... not a big fan of the regional dishes, so no surprises here as well. Staff are seriously good, very friendly, resolved my little issues promptly and went that extra mile. Would stay again if in the area and paying from my pocket.

The hotel feels quiet and peaceful. The room and bathroom were pleasing and comfortable. We loved the swimmingpool and sauna. But the breakfast is too expensive, so we had breakfast at the local bakery or cafe.

Superb staff. Clean and quiet room. Close to central Cologne.
