Hotel Indigo - Birmingham Five Points S - UAB by IHG

Taylor was perfect!!!! There’s no way she could improve! She parked my car perfectly and I love the energy she brings!!!

Have stayed at this Hotel before and everything was great so when I needed to stay in the area again ofcourse I booked this hotel again. Check in went great fast service room was nice looked clean. Had to call front desk to have my air turned down they said they would handle it (never been somewhere where I wasn’t allowed to control my own thermostat but whatever) went to eat dinner came back room was still very warm asked them about it and they said they would bring me a fan? Someone brought me a fan and again asked what was going on and was told maintenance was looking into it Got time for bed and still no air so I went downstairs and requested a room change to one with working air and was told they couldn’t do that maintenance was working on it so I spent all night burning up and next morning at check out when I again complained I was told I wasn’t only customer to have an issue and that they where waiting to hear from manager on how to compensate for issue and I’m still waiting to see if I will ever get said compensation I highly doubt it Will not stay with them ever again

Location was great. There wasn’t a refrigerator or microwave as advertised in the room and staying for 4 days made it hard to keep food. I had to eat out way more than I anticipated. Otherwise everything else was great.

I am a Diamond Member who loves IHG. Normally... This was almost my worst experience in 21 years as IHG Member. It was really bad for an Indgo branded hotel. I routed our anniversary trip to Birmingham, just to stay at the Indgo hotel. My expectations were high, Indigo brand Normally wows me. The room was hot and dirty. We kept calling the front desk to ask them to lower the temperature. They control the temperature from front desk. They said they were trying, we called 3 times in 7 hours. I must say Ebony at front desk was amazing. We could have tried a new room, but we were settled and thought it would get better. The shower was filthy and the rug in main room was wet feeling. I am not sure if it was just cleaned or something was spilled. The shower had lotion balm instead of body wash in it. Somebody put wrong bottle in shower? I enjoy the bar and restaurant at the Indgo hotels I have been to. Not this one. It was a not a good menu, or atmosphere. I hope you read this and pick another IHG hotel. They are normally better than this. Disappointed.

The parking is confusing but other than that it’s a pretty hotel. The front desk runs the ac in your room so be advised, our room was really hot so we had to switch to another room.

I like the hotel overall. The staff was really great. The hotel was really clean. The location was great if you want to be downtown. A lot of food amenities right next door and across the street.

It just needs some cosmetic work done. The elevator was a little scary. It's a nice hotel but you can tell it's an older hotel. I didn't like the fact that the Air was controlled downstairs, but it was okay. I didn't realize it did not have a microwave or a refrigerator but I did without.
