Friendly staff, great location, value for money

A small bottle of water in the room would have been a nice touch. I arrived late and didn't have bottled water with me. Perhaps the staff at check-in could let clients know and offer the possibility to buy a bottle on site. Other than that I was very satisfied.

Location was good for us.

The property was being renovated. We had not been told this at the time of booking. Halls were dirty and badly worn. Some areas were blocked off. Signage was poor which could have been a problem if a fire had occurred. Management have not responded to our concerns raised at the time and via email subsequently.

Location was perfect for us

We stayed for 2 nights but we never got any more tea or milk just enough for 1! Fire alarm went off twice 1st time first thing on a morning, there was ongoing work going on which we we wasnt aware of, and because f the work the walk to room was quite a walk!

Went for a family meal in the hotel’s Harry’s Bar. It Was very very busy , as a Sunday, with all tables full (looked a little cramped in there if I’m honest) but fortunately we were given a table, a little outside in the bigger area, as we had a few members of our family with us dining. As it was very busy had to wait but when the food came it was delicious , especially the lamb and the gravy was gorgeous, which is important to set off the whole meal - obviously a very very talented chef - BIG well done! Our young waitress was excellent too - thank you. Only comment would be one of the child’s meal - the garlic baguette starter wasn’t quite a “baguette” more two slices of baguette. Also the child’s fish and chips was very small - especially the amount of chips - ( one of our young diner’s wasn’t impressed they could count the amount of child too easily ) whereas the other child’s pizzas was more than value of money and they said it was tasty. Lots of local people use this restaurant regularly I’m told and return many times - so well done on the whole and I’m sure we will return - just increase the size of the child’s fish and chips option to make the youngsters happier and be far better value of money . Nice hotel

Should've been told that they were refurbishing the property..the shower hose leaked..spraying water everywhere..the noise from outside was unbearable..all night! Shut off around 7! Do not have a room by the courtyard

Attended a family member's 60th birthday party at the hotel and booked a one night stay refurbished room. Upon booking I mentioned that my husband was over 80 and had mobility issues. I was very disappointed with the room given as it was a good walking distance to get to and very cold and noisy with building work being carried out above our room. My sister had the same problem with her room being far and having to climb stairs she had her room changed to a more accessible one. Also a few of us had travelled from London and got to the hotel a bit early to check in but the reception area was not big enough to accommodate enough guests. We asked if there was somewhere in the hotel we could go and sit and have coffee only to be told it was closed and there's a Costa a few minutes away down the road. On a plus side the Garden room for the partywas beautiful and the food was delicious.
