Oxford Witney Hotel

Arrived for a two night stay to visit relatives who live in Carterton. We previously stayed five years ago, loved the hotel and we married there, it was amazing x Felt a tiny bit underwhelmed this time, room was clean but not spectacular, shower was a trickle, but ok. We had breakfast on our first day, good value and great choice of food. Lovely to see another wedding happening but not so great having a room above the reception room as the music was so loud, found it difficult to sleep, made me realise how other guests felt when we got married there, poor guests . One small suggestion, maybe have some where you can buy a tea or coffee mid morning, nothing between breakfast and 12pm when the bar opens, had to make one in the room and take cups up after, maybe even a machine where you can buy a drink ect. Overall a good stay.

Staff were friendly but unfortunately our room must have been above rhe kitchens or pool as it was unbearably hot and the fan we asked for never materialised. The spa changing rooms were dirty and the jacuzzi must be broken because the jets bearly caused a ripple, not 4 star by any stretch i’m afraid.. needs a makeover

The room we was in was next to the bar and there was noise all night , then on the Saturday night there was a wedding and the music kept us awake till early hours , then there was someone being dragged out of there room at 1 am and the noise was horrendous, I was not offered a refund or even an apology

Good size rooms and lovely clean bed linen and towels Shower pressure could be improved Staff all polite and helpful

Lovely hotel great position, hotel staff brilliant and very friendly and welcoming, great amenities pool gym steam room, the food is very very good and a fair price, my only complaint is that they emailed me 2 days before arrival asking what time i was going to arrive told them 1pm got there to find our room wasn't ready said it qoukd be a while but uf qe wanted to go out they would take the cases upstairs for us, but they never we got back to hotel at 7.30pm requested cases be taken up while we ate, but were still not taken up had to ask again. Will not let that spoil our stay obviously an oversight and was a lovely break in a beautiful part of the cotswolds.

Beds were extremely uncomfortable, bathroom had black moulds spots on the shower curtains. However , pool was decent, and towels provided. Kristina from the spa was great. Overall would not return.

property was easy to find, Parking was plentiful. Very close to A40 so traffic noise during the night, but manageable. Rooms were large but becoming dated

This hotel is terrible. It is not a 4 star hotel. There was a mile walk to our hotel rooms, up and down stairs then up a little lift that was ready to give up. The room was dingy and depressing, absolutely covered in scuff marks and some were very questionable, especially for a superior room. Then we stripped the bed after looking for bed bugs (a previous review mentioned that they found bed bugs). But instead we’re met with hundreds of hairs, little hairs and crumbs. Enough was enough, we checked out an hour after checking in and I was fuming. I did tell the receptionist but she didn’t care and then when I questioned about a Refund, fobbed me off to ask and question with who we booked the hotel with. DO NOT STAY HERE. However, I do recommend the holiday inn pear tree Oxford, they sorted us out a room immediately and it was clean, the food was amazing and the staff are so friendly!

It was nice from outside but internals were quite dated, old and not so clean. Heated towel rail was not working, windows didn't open , shower knob cover broke , ceiling paint was peeling... Corridor carpets was dirty. Pool areas needs deep cleaning. Restaurant food was mediocre and waiting staff was untrained.
