The staff were amazing. Thank you Livy and Sunil for making our stay so enjoyable! Thank you Livy for finding room for us when the resort was full and we just needed one more night in Paradise! The beach with white sand and clear water was amazing! The spa was the nicest we have ever seen. The hot and cold baths were so perfect! Loved our stay!!

"Maldives from Temu"

2.0

I had the worst experience of my life at this so-called “luxury” resort. First of all, if you value real hospitality and true luxury, stay far away. A short extra flight to Bali will give you far more for your money. Getting here is a nightmare: after landing in Kuala Lumpur, you face a four-hour car transfer to the marina, then a 20-minute boat ride. The hotel will quote you outrageous transfer prices and blame it on “third parties.” That may be true for taxis (I found one for half the price), but the boat is owned by the hotel—and they still charge €100 one way for a shabby 20-minute ride (see photo). We booked a villa in the Spa Village. It was tiny, with an ancient AC unit blasting directly at the bed. Without it, you drown in sweat; with it, you wake up stiff, aching, and unable to rest. The unit is at least 20 years old, controlled by a useless dial, and filthy inside—full of dead flies and dust (see photos/videos). Sleeping in that room was impossible; it was torture. One manager did try to help, and I give him credit—he offered to remove one boat trip from the bill and even suggested a dinner. But these were engineering and infrastructure problems far beyond his expertise, and despite his effort, we had no choice but to cut our stay short. The mattress was another nightmare—an ancient slab disguised with a thin topper. As for the bathroom, there’s no handheld shower, only an overhead fixture. For women who don’t want to wash their hair every day, this makes it impossible to shower properly. Water was another shocking issue. The resort only offers filtered tap water. If you ask for bottled water, staff look confused. Someone eventually produced a tiny 250 ml glass bottle, but it smelled foul and tasted spoiled—likely sitting in storage for years. This is completely unacceptable in a place claiming “luxury.” A true five-star resort must cater to all guests, including those with fragile stomachs who need safe bottled water. Staff overall were unhelpful and rude. Only one manager showed genuine effort; the rest were dismissive and untrained, repeating the same words: “No. Closed. Bye.” The worst was the receptionist—an Indian lady with a red dot on her forehead—rude, unprofessional, and barely able to communicate in English. Yes, the island itself is beautiful—but that’s where the positives end. Everything else is a scam dressed up as five-star hospitality. Honestly, I don’t know how they obtained their rating—either through bribery, corruption, or a completely uncontrolled system where businesses assign stars as they please. Save your money. Go anywhere else instead, where you’ll find real beaches, real service, and real value.

"Nice island experience"

8.0

Nice island, wonderfull beaches, good food, nice staff. We booked a Spa Villa. The room was clean. But unfortunately in front of the AC very dusty... Not a huge problem, but when you pay almost 2000 Ringitt per night you could expect a cleaner room. Food was good. The best food we had @the feast village and @ emeralde beach (lunch) and @fishermans cove (was excellent fish). Also the salads @Jamu Bar were tasty. Uncle Lim was unfortunately not as good as the other restaurants. Spa treatments were very nice and the staff did a good job. We also had a very friendly barman at the spa bar. Our highlight was Emeralde Bay. Awesome beach! Overall a nice place but slightly overpriced in comparison to what you get at other hotels.

"A beautiful experience."

10.0

Went here for a couple of days as part of our anniversary (50yrs) tour of Malaysia and loved every minute of our stay. From the first minute of stepping off the speedboat to get there we were expertly taken care of and greeted by Segar the guest liaison manager who was superb at his job looking after you from greeting you at reception and telling you all about the place, to daily asking if everything was ok and are you enjoying your stay, in fact I have to give praise to all of the staff as they were all very polite and courteous. We stayed in one of the sea chalets and it was beautiful can't fault it at all, loved it, as it was a 15 minute walk to the reception, bars, restaurants, you just picked up the phone which are located at various places, and asked to be picked up, no problems getting about, it will also take you over to Emerald beach and back. The food was very good at the restaurants, and the breakfast choices are vast, have to say a thank you to the lady who when I walked about looking at the various choices, I came to the noodle counter, and I don't know what you call it but the lady explained you pick your choice of noodles then veg, and other things and then the broth, which may have been Tom Yam, not sure, she asked if I'd like to try it, but I declined, thinking not for breakfast, but she persuaded me to try a little bowl, and I'm glad she did, it was lovely, one of the best dishes of my whole trip to Malaysia, so a big thank you, sorry didn't get your name. Now even on leaving Segar was there to wish us well on our departure, right out to our boat to see us off, a big thank you to Pankor Laut resort and all the staff for a memorable stay. I'm home now in Scotland and already telling all my friends about the highlight of our trip to Malaysia. Pankor Laut.👌

"A little piece of paradise."

10.0

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was great. The setting was beautiful…I spent the first day walking around humming The White Lotus theme tune to myself. The food, the friendliness of the staff, the pool, the beach, the wildlife…all was great. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they were always going the extra mile for the kids. You can have a chat with them and get to know them a little too. Go for a massage whilst you’re there too.

"Fantastic resort with amazing customer service"

10.0

We have just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay in one of the resorts Hill Villas. From the moment we arrived at we were treated with such courtesy and experienced excellent customer service throughout our stay. After checking in we were given an explanation of the resorts amenities, quite a lot to take in after a long trip but useful none the less. We were then taken to our room which was fantastic, beautifully maintained, spacious with a large balcony and sea view. Flip flops and bug spray were lovely little touches. The resort has a serene feel about it and is truly a place to relax and unwind. It’s easy to get around, with buggy’s/cars available to take you around the island - we never had to wait long to be collected. The main pool was lovely, although they could do with a couple more sun beds but the real highlight for us was Emerald Bay! Such a gorgeous beach with calm waters and enough sun beds to go around. We tried the Spa once and had a wonderful massage and were able to use the facilities for the rest of the day. The spa area was much quieter than the main pool. We planned to eat lunch at the Spa but the menu was very small and not to our liking. We tried all other food options though, all were excellent and the food was good quality - Fisherman’s Cove and Uncle Lims were highlights but Feast Village was also good with a varied menu. The resort caters for all tastes and breakfast in particular was extensive. Some have said the resort is a little pricey and yes it is more costly than the mainland but I would expect costs to be a higher at a 5 star resort and I felt we had excellent value for money. The jungle trek (free) with Harris was a highlight, very informative and interesting to find out more about the island and local wildlife. Overall we had a fantastic time at the resort and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. We experienced second to none customer service and were treated warmly by every member of staff but particular thanks go to Jeff (our concierge, nothing was too much trouble), Tini, Kristnan, Budi, Adynana, Sakil, Harris, Apon, Michael and Al Almin.

"Discussing customer service. "

2.0

Just got back from here yesterday. Emailed, them twice three weeks, ago re. our booking and received no reply and have mails again twice yesterday evening re. our final invoice but stoll no reply. Customer service is absolute trash. Will leave another review of the place when I get time but just to warn people don't expect to get any response to your queries. On arrival you will be subjected to a hard sell of dining options when after a long journey you just want to get to your Lodge. Beware as the prices are astronomical. Dinner on the beach which consisted of a table on the beach with other guests drinking in the bar alongside and others on the beach on sunbeds was £350!. No choice of food either just prawn cocktail starter and a steak and lobster dinner! The main restaurant has a couple different nights with the regular being a starter and desert for £12 which consists of soup or a limited lsalad bar for starter and fruit, yes just fruit, for desert. The main course is, a la carte and not a great choice oh and like everything here pricey. Be aware you are on an island and there are no shops to get any snacks or similar so lunch is at the two bars which serve meals only not what you want for lunch. No prices on the menu either which says it all! Shame about the above as its a lovely resort but let down by the rip off prices. Lastly when we arrived our transfer provided by the hotel was for car and boat included however when we left, though the transfer stated hotel to airport they charged us £130 for the boat. Another rip off and lucky trail finders refunded the boat cost when we approached them. As I say lovely resort but beware they will hammer your bank balance and there's no way to pop to the shop for anything. We won't be visiting again. Pete

"Paradise"

10.0

Pangkor Laut Resort is one of those rare places that feels almost unreal in its beauty and serenity 🌿✨. Set on its own private island off the west coast of Malaysia, the resort is surrounded by turquoise waters, lush rainforest that’s millions of years old, and pristine beaches fringed with coconut palms. It’s famous for Emerald Bay, often described as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with powdery white sand and calm, clear waters perfect for swimming. Dining is an experience in itself, from fine seafood overlooking the waves to casual bites by the beach. The service is warm and personal, making you feel truly cared for. What makes Pangkor Laut extra special is its sense of seclusion. You really feel like you’ve stepped away from the world and into a private paradise — a place where time slows down and you can simply breathe, swim, rest
