Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Kannapolis/Concord

Horrible. Only one word can describe the stay. Don’t let the price fool you. Don’t even think about staying here. The place smelled horrible, and so did the room. Not worth the effort to drive there at all.

Photos are deceiving. This place is a mess. The lobby is completely gutted out/no furniture. There is not any breakfast which they advertise that they have. No pool. The room was dirty. There was trash on the floor, broken blinds, and the smoke alarm was wrapped tightly in plastic (my guess is that someone was smoking in the room and didn’t want the alarm to go off. I have no idea why the room was in this condition it we promptly left not knowing IF we would get our money refunded or not. We did not feel safe here. I booked because the pictures online looked nice, but I assure you this place is a disaster.

Other reviews made it sound not too bad, so we booked for one night in July 2022. The first room smelled so strongly of mildew, we rejected it immediately. The second room (although marked "non-smoking room") reeked of cigarette smoke. Since I'm allergic to mold and mildew, but not smoke -- and it was getting late -- we stayed in the smelly, "non-smoking" room. We were able to open the window for ventilation, but the screen was missing. We retrieved the screen from the bushes outside, but there were holes in the screen. So we toughed out the night with the window closed. Ugh! Don't think we slept much at all, as the sheets had an even stronger smoke stench. We cleaned the bathroom ourselves, since there were dried-up urine spots on the lid, lots of green (soap?) scrum in the tub, oil on the bathroom floor, and bugs and dirt in the bathroom corners. Disgusting. No breakfast in the morning (despite what was advertised). No coffee even, "due to COVID." No hangers. No rod to hang clothes on, even. Had to beg the front-desk clerk for a blow dryer and an iron. Front desk attributed this to COVID also ("our guests have been breaking and stealing things, and we can't get shipments in"). How can Wyndham keep its name on this place?!

floor shaking. Kids at the desk. I was told that the constant shaking in the rooms from The dryer causes the 3 & 2nd floor to shake . Once I told them about my medical condition they want to change the room to the 1st floor. Also in the dinning area there are bugs and dead insects. I thought the shaking was from the elevator but I was told the shaking on the third and second floor is from the dryer. I am close to the elevator. I am epileptic constant shaking on the floor can cause a seizure. This is a safety concern for me. There I no bell hopper to help move suitcases or there is nowhere to place my luggage in a cart. They never have been able to access a cart available since they do not have one.

The women at the front desk was amazing! But sadly there is no breakfast provided, thank goodness ihop and waffle house are not to far from this location. We got a non smoking room but the room smelled like smoke and there were things splattered all over the walls and burn marks from smoking in the tub and other areas

This hotel was reserved Oct. 2017 and was not open for vacancy when I attempted to check in May 3 - May 7. And wasn't informed by Expedia nor the hotel of this issue at all. This really ruined my plans and I would like something to be done to fix this matter.

This Motel was closed on my arrival. Expedia had sent me multiple reminder messages about my booking and even telling me that there was no need to contact the facility. It was a local event weekend so piratically no other room where available- esp at a decent rate. My wife contacted Expedia and was promised to be refunded within 24 hour- 48 hours later - nothing. I will never use Expedia.com again!

Horrible. I paid for a room in a hotel that was under renovation and was not made aware that I would not be able to stay. I found out they were closed when I read the sign on the front of the door at 10 pm after a 3 hour drive.

Got to the motel I had reserved for 4/6/2018 about 3:34 pm and their was a sign on the door saying closed for remolding. I had to cut my trip short and return home. I missed a day at the Charlotte Auto Fair.

This hotel is closed for “renovation”. It’s been closed for months. Looks like squatters have taken over.
