Shrigley Hall Hotel

This was a birthday present for me and my first time coming to Shringley Hall...really enjoyed my time and my treatments from Kate were amazing ; what a lovely lady and knowledgeable. Will definitely come again

Experience overall was great

The location is incredible. All staff extremely welcoming. A good variety of characters. The atmosphere is a good blend of relaxing and upbeat. It is quite euphoric and doesn’t feel real at times it’s that pleasant. 11/10

I could see how some people wouldn’t like the boystrous nature of the golf club but for me that added to the experience and introduced me to a whole new world

Had been experiencing burnout so needed a night away somewhere and Shrigley Hall fit the bill. First thing I noticed coming up the drive was the incredible views over the Manchester skyline in front of the building, was more than happy to just sit there and watch the horizon. Arrived for a spa treatment with Tia at Bazaar and felt incredible and relaxed afterwards. The room was a long walk away with lots of steps and corridors, but was lovely and spacious when I got there. Was nice to see a peacock in full bloom on my walk! I only stayed 1 night, and I'd say for that it was good value. This included breakfast, a sunrise spa package (2 hours in an infinity pool) and a £30 allowance for my evening meal. The food itself was okay. The staff were great and so welcoming. The towels did have stains on them (looked like nail polish), but the bedding did seem clean. I was travelling by train to Adlington, and it was then a few minutes in a taxi to the hotel reception - just make sure you plan ahead as the trains are 1 an hour and the taxis are few and far between!

Guy on reception on checking in and out very unwelcoming. Had to ask for any information which I was deem as very basic. I.e where is the room, what time is dinner and breakfast!!

Lovely impressive façade and impressive interior but be warned, a lot of the rooms are in an extension at the back, which was a 3 minute walk. With so many changes of level Fawlty Towers springs to mind. After the trek to our room with our luggage we were disappointed to find a small room with lack of cupboards, just a hanging rail with shelf under and 2 small drawers on a desk. There was no evidence that the room had seen a duster. We put our underwear in the drawers, however when we got them out to wear they were covered in dust! The mattress was a very strange shape leaning to one side and the bottom was higher than the top. The shower was nice but could have done with a shelf to put toiletries on. The view consisted of a grass hill that led to the car park, but was enhanced by an abandoned white(ish) sock! No idea how long that had been there. The dust saga continued with the radiator and the tv unit. When my husband checked in we only got one room card. When I went back to reception I asked for a second room card and was surprised and shocked to be given one no questions asked, other than room number! On our second night I wasn’t feeling well so went back to go to bed. My 3 minute walk ended with the room card not letting me in to my room so another 3 minutes back to reception and then back again. When my husband came to bed his card didn’t work either. On a positive note all staff were helpful, particularly in the restaurant a young lad at breakfast very helpful and Chloe in the evening was exceptional - thank you to them.

Had the most wonderful spa session, fabulous massage with Kate…after a stressful couple of weeks she made everything not only my back and shoulders feel lighter but me too!! So lovely and caring and wanting to do the best for her client! Also love the hotel staff and food.
