Beautiful light lunch today and the service was excellent! Walked around the gardens.

Stunning building and grounds

My son and his girlfriend went to stay at Danesfield Hse a few weeks ago and they really enjoyed it, so my partner and I decided to go too. The house is beautiful and as it's perched on a hill, you get lovely views of the river and the countryside. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including robes and slippers for the spa. The staff were friendly and helpful at reception, the restaurant and the spa. We had lunch on arrival, dinner in the evening and room service breakfast the next morning. The food was excellent and it was nice to see wine from the nearby vineyard on the wine list. We enjoyed the steam room but my only criticism is that the sauna was switched off. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend going if you're looking for a relaxing weekend in tranquil surroundings.

The grounds are striking, the rooms are individually designed (ours was by a well-known French architect, Philippe Starck). Food was lovely (we had breakfast, dinner and an afternoon tea). My husband enjoyed his massage.

The swimming pool area (flooring neear the jacuzzi, showers) may need a refresh to look tidier
