Danesfield House Hotel And Spa

Fine building in generally good condition. Pity about the apparently continuously 'out of order' lift but willing staff on hand to assist with baggage. Comfortable room on the first floor with superb view over the Thames valley. Excellent dinner and good breakfast. All hotel staff encountered were helpful and polite.

Interesting property and history

The spa was ‘tired’ and jacuzzi out of order. The restaurant was overpriced and pretentious at dinner; portion sizes erratic although tasty. One main course was literally 4 x the volume of the other. Same with deserts. Quite odd and disappointing tbh. Breakfast was delicious and excellent value though.

Worst hotel experience ever.

The staff was very professional and fantastic, the overall vibe was really nice, it was clean and the spa was great and quiet. The breakfast and coffee were also excellent. And the room view was stunning.

The shower was old school and I really struggled to get the temperature right turning both knobs. It also dripped a bit after and I couldn't make it stop. Luckily it didn't prevent us from sleeping.

Property needs updated. Food needs to be served hot. Vegetarians options very limited. Hotel very dated and expensive for what is on offer. Spa is outdated, some items not working. Not what I expected for the price.

Beautiful setting and grounds

Stayed here for my birthday not long ago, was not let down, the rooms were clean and staff were attentive.

We were very impressed with our superior room, which had a separate sitting room. The bed was very comfortable too. Worth a walk through the grounds too as nice viewing platform and rockery/pools.

Lift wasn't working.

Stayed here for two nights for our wedding anniversary. Staff were excellent. Food was sublime. Bedroom was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic venue.
