"Loved staying in this hotel"

8.0

Despite the language barrier, the staff were very helpful and cooperative. I have travelled to China many times and often found that the hotel staff is either rude or unwilling to help. However, this hotel is different. In fact seems like people in Hangzhou are nicer and well behaved compared to people in Beijing and Shanghai.

"Not bad at all"

Nice enough room, maybe in need of a little renovation. Close to the West Lake. Roof top bar was brilliant!

"Nice hotel close to Westlake area"

8.0

Very nice hotel but starting to show age. ladders in pool need to be replaced, bathrooms are very small, breakfast does not include salmon and waiters are not attentive, had to get my own coffee and refills. Moderate price is reflected in value, next door to newer, more expensive Dragon hotel.

"Excellent"

They tried giving me a smaller room than I payed for, had to come back down to the lobby and sort it out, didn't take much time but was frustrating nonetheless.

"Surprisingly good! Really worth it."

10.0

Looking at the photos of the exterior online, I was a little worried about booking 4 nights with my wife and young son as it looks quite dated and brash (reminded me of 1970s Birmingham, England for some reason) and we deliberated for days about it. Finally we took the decision as Chinese New Year was approaching very fast and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Once you walk in, the decor is beautifully done, the atmosphere is calm and spacious and the staff are super helpful with many speaking very good English. The are plenty of lifts so you are not waiting long and the rooms are very tastefully done. The smaller rooms are a little pokey and I had actually booked a larger room so when I told reception they immediately upgraded us to a fantastic room on one of the top floors, where we didn't want to leave for at least 36 hours - these rooms have really nice touches like L'occitaine bath products, huge TVs, idocks and Japanese electronic toilets that do everything except sing (although there is probably a button for that). The cleaning ladies are extremely nice too and went out of their way to do things for us even though they didn't speak English or us much Chinese. The gym, pool and saunas are great (i think the men's might have more facilities such as hot bath and jacuzzi) although you have to walk quite far (inside) to get to them. The only improvements I could suggest is to make an easier access to the gym area (a lift might help) and make the food a bit tastier - a little bland although good enough! Really worth staying!

"Comfort and Efficiency"

10.0

Hangzhou is a charming city with many attractions. The Narada Grand Hotel is well situated and inexpensive and a perfect residence for both those on business duty and those on holiday. The staff were more than willing to help and were of a pleasant disposition. One minor irritation is the rather high bar prices.

"Excellent location if you like hike early morning"

8.0

Cross street is the Baoshi (Gem) Mountain. If you can get up early, before 6am, and start hike over the mountain, you will capture the extremely beautiful sunrise above the West Lake. There even is a place called ChuYangTai (Sunrise Platform). And then you can get to the lakeside before it got very crowded. That is the best part of Hangzhou. The hotel itself is a standard 4 star hotel. Room not big but is clean. Breakfast is nice too.

"Nice hotel, in the heart of the city"

8.0

I was here on a business trip and overall the experience was good. This is a good place to stay while in Hangzhou. The staff was helpful. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and overall it was nicely decorated. The windows opened, but mosquitoes will come in. There was free in-room internet/WiFi and TV with a variety of international channels. They offer a breakfast buffet that is ample; it is predominantly Chinese cuisine. That’s not an issue for me as I like to try any and all foods when I’m traveling. I’d use this hotel when in Hangzhou again.

"Chinese City of the G20"

8.0

No doubt that Hangzhou is the best city I visit in china. First stay at the Narada Grand and I enjoyed it. Check in and Check out was efficient, English speaking and no triple checking every thing, which often happens in China. My room was spacious, big tub and good king size bed. A good working desk a little view over the sports centre next door. Breakfast was good enough for me. Fruit, cereal, expresso and eggs and bacon plus lots of Chinese options. I did not use any of the restaurants but did eat at a good Spanish restaurant next door. There is also an Italian nearby. Location is ok. Not close to their metro lines and not that close to the central station area. So depends on what you need to do. Taxis are easy to find outside of real peak hour. I reccomend for good value, security, Swimming pool and gymn.
