"One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in and a great experience. Warm Irish hospitality at its best!"

10.0

Exceptional property, service and experience. So much to do, explore and see on this vast estate, and we're not even golfers. Excellent use of AMEX FHC. We didn't get a room upgrade but early/late check in/out was nice, used the $100 credit to share a tomahawk that was more than enough food for us. Room quality, welcome amenity (Gin and tonics and lemon cake I think for being Bonvoy Gold) and service were what you'd expect for this price. We borrowed some bikes to ride down to the river and back; they also had games and other freebies. Would love to come back for a longer stay.

"A beautiful property but the hard product and service standards are not in keeping with the price point."

6.0

A mixed and slightly disappointing experience, particularly for the price. Stayed at the Manor House for 1 night. The room rate was €589 for 2 adults. Given the price point, my expectations of the property were high but were not fulfilled. The pre-arrival experience was good and the concierge team was helpful and assisted with on-site restaurant reservations. On arrival staff were friendly and it was possible to check-in a couple of hours early which was appreciated. It didn’t feel like staff had much awareness of the applicable Bonvoy benefits. Even where these can’t be offered it would be nice to have them acknowledged (e.g. ‘sorry we couldn’t offer you a room upgrade on this occasion’ or ‘would you like a 2pm check out’). The room (a Junior Suite) was spacious but worn and tired. The standard of maintenance and housekeeping was not in keeping with the price point. A socket was loose on the wall, carpets and upholstery were stained, there were dead flies on the windowsill and unsightly loose cables between the TV and wall outlet. The Nespresso machine in the room was visibly filthy and didn’t work. When I called about this I was informed that someone would call to the room in a few minutes. Well over 30 minutes later I had to call again before the matter was resolved by a helpful staff member. Lunch at the Manor House bar was average. The food and beverage presentation was basic at best and the food quality was fine but nothing more. Service varied depending on the staff member. Dinner at The Hound was excellent, as was the service. Breakfast was also served at the Manor House, while the service was excellent there were several flies around the table and the food quality was average. I ordered an eggs royal and the salmon was not well trimmed. Overall this is a beautiful property and setting but the hard product and service standards are not in keeping with the price point.

"Refusal to accept expired voucher"

2.0

My parents received a €120 voucher, as an anniversary gift just before COVID, post covid the voucher is of course out of date, but hoped a 5 star establishment who’s reputation is built on excellent customer service, they were surprised the hotel would not honour the voucher despite of having already been paid in full. The voucher is not enough to cover a night stay or a round of golf for two, so it would only be used in conjunction with other business for the hotel, never mind that my parents had been repeated customers of the establishment for years prior to this experience. Very disappointing oversight or greedy business mentality from a high end establishment which should know to treat customers better than this. A very simple gesture from the hotel could have avoided this negative experience, loosing loyal customer's.

"Rude staff, stingy upgrade policies for loyal guests, dirty room"

2.0

My recent stay at this hotel was unfortunately quite disappointing, particularly given my Platinum Elite status with Marriott Bonvoy. Firstly, the hotel demonstrated a concerning lack of appreciation for loyal guests when it came to room upgrades. Despite my Platinum status, which typically includes complimentary upgrades up to a suite, we were initially informed upon arrival that the hotel was fully booked. This directly contradicted the Marriott app, which showed ample room availability, including suites, for the same night. After a prolonged discussion that required manager involvement, we were eventually upgraded to only a mid-tier room, even though two suites were visibly available. The manager's frank admission that he was holding onto these suites to potentially sell them, even at 8 PM, was frankly astounding and a clear indication that guest loyalty is not valued here. For high-status Marriott members, I strongly advise taking your business to properties that genuinely appreciate and reward loyalty. Secondly, the front desk service was unacceptably rude. Upon our arrival, we were completely ignored for approximately ten minutes while the staff continued with their tasks, giving the impression that our presence was an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to provide service. This lack of acknowledgment and basic hospitality created a very negative first impression. Finally, the cleanliness of the room was far below any acceptable standard. The carpet was noticeably covered in sand and dirt, and disturbingly, the bed linens had visible stains. This severe lapse in hygiene made the room feel unclean and uncomfortable, failing to meet even the most basic expectations for a hotel stay. Overall, the combination of stingy upgrade policies, rude front desk staff, and an unacceptably dirty room made this a stay I would not repeat. This hotel definitely falls short of the lowest hotel standards. I would not recommend anyone staying here.

"Enchanting..."

10.0

We had a lovely stay at the Manor House , Mount Juliet . The estate is beautiful with exceptional views and facilities creating a true escape from the everyday. The staff are both welcoming and efficient. We enjoyed great food in The Hound and drinks and breakfast at the Manor House with its views of the River Nore and Ballylinch Stud. After breakfast, I was driven by charming William to the equestrian centre where Connor greeted me and introduced me to my instructor Clodagh and a kind and willing horse . l hadn't been horse riding for some time, and they both took great care to make sure I was comfortable before Clodagh led me out on the trail. We had a very enjoyable hack through woods and along the river bank , and then it was back to the Manor House for a coffee on the lawn to tell my husband about my wonderful morning .

"Sadly, fell short of our expectations for a supposedly premier standard establishment."

6.0

This was to supposed to be a special treat visit for my wife using her lovely One4All Xmas bonus. I have had numerous business meetings here and decided to impress my wife with a night out with dinner. However, apart from a fabulous meal in the Lady Helen restaurant our overall stay was not impressive and I certainly don't know how this hotel attains/retains a 5 star rating. We booked a special midweek deal with a room in the Manor House, bed/breakfast and a dinner in the Lady Helen. Checked in ok and pointed out that we would be paying part of the bill with the One4All and the balance with our credit card. Anyway, to the room - top floor but no lifts in Manor House! EV charging available but located beyond the golf club (about 600m away). Leisure facilities are also located a golf club/Hunter's Yard and are not 5 star standard. Located upstairs at back of the building the pool is strangely shaped and small. Steam room/sauna is small and basic and changing rooms are also, in my opinion, not 5 star standard. No lockers available in ladies and no showers working in gents changing areas. Lunch in the Clubhouse (nowhere else available) was an expensive and mediocre vegetable soup and small toasted sandwich served by a bored and disinterested staff member. Our room in the Manor House was quite nice with views to front car park. TV although decent size had a digital line down centre of screen, and yes , we did report it. Our breakfast was quite good but for some strange reason my bacon was weirdly dry (freshly cooked?) but was quickly replaced with something more edible. I would have to ask if anybody was actually checking what was going out to table? Our main hiccup came at checkout when, despite being requested clearly by both my wife and I to only take part payment on the One4All card the receptionist then proceeded to charge our full stay to the One4All card. This upset my wife because she had planned to use the card again for another treat night, ironically, at this hotel's sister facility at Johnstown Estate in June (see review for comparison). So, sadly, I would have to say that unless you are a fanatical golf enthusiast (not for me) then you could leave Mount Juliet (or MJ as their corporate entities insist on calling it) as underwhelmed as my wife and I did with the facilities and service. I did submit these same comments and concerns with Marriot Group "Customer Experience" department but we were swallowed up in the corporate machine and obviously deemed not to be taken seriously.

"Beautiful hotel "

8.0

My husband and I stayed here while traveling in Ireland with our friends. This is a lovely hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the staff friendly and attentive. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was good. The bar was friendly with a decent wine selection. Breakfast was included and offered both hot and cold plus ordering off menu. One of our friends ordered Eggs Benedict and she said they were very good. I like an English breakfast (without the beans..) and was not disappointed. The rooms were large and the linens were amazing. Our friends still rave about them and that was 4 days ago. Stay here when in Waterford.
