The dining experience was not acceptable. There were not enough servers. We had to wait a long time to be waited on and then a long time to be served and then a long time to pay every time we used the dining room. The hours of service were not what was listed it was impossible to even get a cup of coffee before 8:00. We were charged 18% gratuity for horrible service.

The hotel rooms were very dated. I booked 3 rooms. All 3 rooms had problems with the showers. The water was either very cold or very (scalding) hot. The maintenance man tried to fix the issue but the showers were never comfortable warm. The rooms were not super clean and one of the rooms had bugs when they checked in. The beach was a very nice beach with very little rocks. The food at the bar/restaurant was very good but the service was lacking. They charged 18% tip and because of this I don't think the wait staff felt like they needed to be attentive to the tables. Many times I had to go up and ask for something to be brought to the table. We learned to ask for the check soon after the food was brought to the table. Many nights the restaurant was not busy but yet it would take awhile just to be acknowledged let alone our order taken. The food usually took at least 45 minutes to an hour to come out. Do not expect a quick dinner there. This hotel is across the street from the airport. During the day you can hear planes taking off and landing but thank goodness there are not flights at night.

We loved the location and the quiet.

Some might find it dated and the staff overwhelmed.

Stayed at the Emerald our last day in St. Thomas due to its proximity to the airport. It was just OK. The property is tired and the staff don't seem thrilled to be there. Food and drinks at the beachside bar are average. Rooms are a decent size but like the rest of the property are a bit tired and dated. They have a rooster issue. They're all over the property and they crow all night long. One was posted up right outside of our room and started crowing at 230am and didn't stop until 6am. That sucked. Decent place to spend your last day if you have an early flight out the next day. Otherwise I'd stay at another property.

Rooms were nice. Liked the lay out of the motel.

Need more light in room. Shower was off and on with warm and cool. But ok. Food not the best same with drinks.
