St James Hotel; BW Premier Collection

I liked the location

The hotel is not in the condition to offer rooms. The amount of maintenance that is happening makes the rooms smell of fumes, with little ventilation. I had to walk through bins and rubbish to reach my room. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the evening and it is harder to tell the fire escape route with all the mess around. The bathroom toilet the lid was not fitted properly, the underside of the sink was not cleaned yet was exposed so build up of dust exists in the room. The heater is not suitable for overnight stays. The paint is peeling and there are blemishes in the decor throughout.

Staff very helpfull lovely and clean and comfortable

Fab location. The room was as appointed as I expected The refillable water bottles were a very nice touch. Great water pressure The French (?) lass at reception was wonderful.

I mean, it is fairly run down. Functional for sure, but it requires quite a refurb. It is largely aesthetic though, and i suspect thats why it's reasonably priced. The tiled bathrooms are nearly mosaic at this point. Not the quietest room, but I don't expect silence in a central location,

Hotel has been refurbished at moment so no breakfast dinner facilities. New refurbished room is very nice.

Staff pleasant and helpful

Due to renovation work there was no bar or food availability

Location was good

It was a building site. The rooms were dated anx have seen better days
