The Resort at Glade Springs

I grew up in northern West Virginia and had heard of Glade Springs for a long time, but had never been there. It turns out that it is just about half way between our house and my brothers in Cincinnati, so we decided to stay there as kind of a survey trip on a recent trip. Unfortunately, we really didn't stay long enough to partake in many of the experiences offered. We stayed in the main Inn; the room was very nice basically a more modern version of the Greenbrier, with a huge TV, warm terry bath robes (no slippers) and king bed. I would skip the jetted tub next time, as it is only big enough for one person and only stays on for ~3 minutes at a time. As we were driving in, outdoor Christmas decorations were being installed. The resort plays tasteful music with the displays, and we could take it all in from the little balcony in our room. The Rotunda breakfast buffet has high quality items (scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and a wonderful baked french toast). The selection was somewhat lacking, as there was no yogurt or low fat milk. The coffee is dark roast and hot water/tea bags are available. US Route 19 is the main way to get there. It is under construction, which is annoying, but didn't result in significant delays. We plan to go back in the warmer weather to spend a few days with the many amenities (fitness center, golfing, spa, restaurants etc.) offered, but we didn't have time for.

I would recommend staying here and seeing the Christmas lights! A few things around could use a little replacement and maintenance, but overall, it's a lovely resort.

We had a girls "spa" weekend. It was wonderful. We had two connecting rooms that were perfect. The shuttle was always available to take us to the spa and to Bunkers for dining and drinks. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast buffet at the Rotunda one morning and brunch at Bunkers the other morning. Our rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated with comfortable beds.

Perfect getaway! Room nice, food and activity options great, beautiful Fall scene. The fright night special event on the property was an added plus for Halloween. Close to gorgeous New River Gorge national park hiking (Grandview). We’ll be back!

Great location but propert seemed only have a few guests. Our room was “dated” and the carpet was stained. Bathroom molding and caulking is decaying.

The resort was almost empty and the executive suite was so disappointing. We had to change it to a regular room with the same price.

Spread out allowing for more privacy and nice setting with the trees.
