Hotel Francis

Nice stay, staff very friendly and professional. Looks like the hotel is remodeling so that may be something to be considered. We are going to be in town in October for the Angola prison rodeo and will be staying here along with several friends.

Very friendly and efficient staff - room was clean and comfortable - on outside (walkways, parking lot) there is need for work BUT it's a beautiful setting - and the best room ever for the price we paid - if we need to stay in this area again, we will go there

Horrible. Check in staff was a racist. He smelled. Took the room out of curiosity. Roaches crawl on tv stand. Carpet was old. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Room 132 I stayed till 5 am and just left. I want a refund. Oh and the room smelled old

The staff is extraordinary, if you need anything they are quick to help. Rooms are clean. The pillows are fluffy. The pool was clean . Loved the pond with the geese and ducks. Has a complimentary breakfast. I highly recommend for just a couples get away or you can bring your family and pets. There are lots of attractions and good food just withing 5 to 10 min driving distance. The hotel is under new management and they are renovating. But it was still quiet and very relaxing.

The Hotel Francis is the ruins of a nice property where the management has stopped doing any significant maintenance. The parking lot paving is broken up, the lighting is unpredictable and the grounds are a mess. My son and I checked into our first room, where the carpet was loose and the room stank strongly of mold. We requested a replacement room on the second storey (assuming there had been flooding on the ground floor) but this unit was also moldy. The towel racks in the bathroom were rusted. The light over the sink took five minutes to turn on. We left early in the morning, not wanting to take our chance with the free breakfast. This property should be removed from Orbitz immediately. It is a slum!

New Management has made for a much better experience here. All of the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Shannon went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and so did everyone else. Enjoyed breakfast every day and great suppers Thanks for everything

It was a nice place to stay it was affordable the hotel itself is relatively older and can use some remodeling but it was still very good and it was a free dinner and breakfast included with the room the staff was very nice

The southern style supper was great. Good situation near the plantations , downtown and the road. The AC make too much noise for the night. Heartely welcomed by the personal. Should come again for a next trip. Breakfast is good and we had choice.

Can’t say enough about the hospitality at The Hotel Francis! The staff is super friendly and so willing to accommodate…. We stayed 5 nights…. The kids loved the pool! The home cooked breakfast was delicious…. Grits, eggs, bacon or sausage and biscuits… Juices or coffee! Cereals if you’d like! The coffee selections were great! And we loved the waffle station! And those Southern Suppers were a big plus! We really enjoyed those evening meals at the hotel which gave us more time at the pool since we didn’t have to go out for evening dining…. Linda and LaKeisha did an outstanding job cooking spaghetti, red beens and rice, meat loaf…. Meals with sides and fixins’…. Dalila was so nice too at breakfast time…. All the employees did a really fine job! Cassandra, Frankie, Shannon and Marion did an exceptional job on the front end…. Very friendly staff…. Knowledgeable of the area... And they were always willing to accommodate! The location of the hotel is premium…. Nice and quiet! Close to the historic district and centrally located to eating places and shopping! The lake is very nice! The pool was nice and clean! The rooms need TLC, very dated (so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) but I understand renovation is in the process…. It’s going to be nice to see this gem of a hotel get a face lift and I look forward to giving it 5 stars in the future!

Everything was excellent except the T.V. reception. Apparently, your reception is via streaming which buffers very often, causing one to miss part of one's program. Your check-in staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
