"Room in the attic."

4.0

Very disappointing. Small room in the attic, therefore sloping ceilings. No wardrobes, just a rail to hang our clothes. No drawers, just a small table on one side of the bed. Shower head adjustment rail was loose and had to shower by holding shower head in hand. Shower curtain about 18” short so after each shower bathroom floor wet and slippery also no shelf in shower cubicle. We spoke to couple in room across from us and they too were very unhappy. Also heard another couple demanding their money back. Said they had stayed before and it was fine but they too had been given a room in the attic and they were far from happy. They were given a room on the opposite side of the hotel, not in the attic and they accepted. I therefore feel that the rooms on the attic (3rd floor) should not be used for paying customers. The rooms are in desperate need of upgrading.

Room was disgusting - reeked of smoke which you could smell even from the corridor. How can you allow a room to get in this state and expect nobody to notice. Ended up leaving to find another hotel as the room was uninhabitable unless you are smoking 60+ a day. Still waiting to speak to the manager about my refund 3 weeks down the line - conveniently not returning any of my calls. Avoid this hotel.

"A little run down too warm and uncomfortable bed "

6.0

From the outside it doesn’t look too bad. The rooms though are quite poor and cheap. Fitting ugly decoration poor comfort of beds poor no air and very warm and stuffy as windows hardly opened. Poor shower Not the greatest stay but also not the worst. Ok for one night but no more.

Very Basic, Needs a good overhall, the Rooms and hallways to rooms so very uncomfortably "HOT" no cooling system or AC/Windows which there was none. Room Hot & smelled of "BO" not nice at all. shower walls cracked and mildew, around bath. never slept well at all. Breakfast was again nice but basic, I cant fault any of the staff they were all lovely and very accomadating, thank you, ladies & Gents!

"Relaxing stay"

10.0

I had a great stay. The hotel is staff are really welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is very enjoyable with lots of choice. The selection on the evening meal menu is fairly small, but the food is very nice. The hotel is set in a beautiful garden and has some really nice views. The hotel itself is very clean, but in places it would benefit from a being painted. I had 2 rooms during my stay, this was because I had made two bookings. I was given one room for the whole of my stay...but swapped to another room, just simply because I wanted a room with a bath as well as a shower. Both of my rooms were beautiful clean and very spacious. In a nutshell, this is a great hotel. Good value for money. It is situated fairly close to the city centre and retail parks, with plenty of food outlets in the area. And is within a short 10 minute walk to/from Edge Hill train station for those travelling by train station. Massive car park for those travelling by road and there is a petrol station in the grounds of the hotel. The only downside for me is that the hotel is situated on a dual carriageway and when leaving the hotel the only option is to exit left onto the dual carriageway(for those wanting to drive into the City Centre just turn left onto Laurel Road, left onto Holly Road, right onto Beech Road then left onto Prescot Road and just follow the signs into the City. I have stayed here a few times in the past and will be staying again soon.
