Devonshire House Hotel

Quite a grand looking hotel and generally spacious / modern but the actual room a bit dated. They have a taxi service which is a bit ambiguous you are given a number and then left to wait in reception for seemingly ages. It was much cheaper than any other hotel I could find in Liverpool and on that basis was fine for my one night solo stay. I could hear the staff nattering in the back parlour including expletives which didn't bother me but something they need to be aware of (that people in reception can hear every word).

Nice hotel, clean, good check in. Abit of a pain to find without sat nav as one side of dual carriage way, but plenty of signs once you are near.

Room was ECONOMY DOUBLE not standard. No curtains at window. Roller blind that wasn't supposed to move. No heating and no wardrobe. Hanging facility was a a rail under a shelf which wasn't deep enough to take clothes. Hangers had to be put at an angle. All rooms were describes as having iron, ironing board and hairdryer. These were not in the room but on advising reception on departure I was told that they were available on request and this should have been advised at check in. Hairdryers were kept in a box under the reception so that they were not stolen. Bed creaked and groaned at every turn and being on castor moved when I sat to put on my shoes. Luckily it couldn't move far for the table wedged between the bed and the non working radiator. Cooked breakfast was hot. No fresh fruit only what looked like tinned oranges and possibly grapefruit? Didn't fancy them so can't be sure Coffe/tea was supplied by sachets and hot water filled flasks Can honestly say have had better quality rooms at much more reasonable prices from Travellodge

Noisy Friday night - doors banging and people up and down corridor all night until 6 in the morning. Room clean but needs updating and no hot water from broken shower control .

Unfortunately I cannot leave a review. Even though the hotel had received our booking, it wasn't processed so we had to go and stay in a different hotel. The staff at the Devonshire did arrange this for us but additional charges for parking were incurred

Our stay of one night was based on price and location and this hotel was great on both requirements. Yes it needs a little updating but hey for somewhere to sleep, why would you want to have to pay hundreds of pounds. Would definitely stay again

We enjoyed are stay very much. The room was large and comfortable. Service was good

Room was large and comfortable, breakfast was very good. Reception staff very helpful. Son had his wedding there and it was fabulous!

The hotel is locally know and had a good reputation. The hotel was value for money, however. The room was a bit mish mash with furniture. The bed was not the comfiest to sleep on either and definitely could accommodate a bigger TV. The bathroom was nice and spacious but felt a bit grubby. The hotel staff were nice, and friendly. Overall for the price worth it, but with a few subtle changes could have been an excellent stay.

Pleasant grounds hotel in need of a major refurbishment. Bar staff very very friendly. Restaurant chef very helpful made food which was not on the menu
