Independence 47 Hotel

TV's didn't work, only 2 sheets on the bed made it cold, dirty room, local = didn't feel safe at night, exterior security door locks didn't work, poor maintenance.

Great water pressure !

The room was spacious, however the beds were really uncomfortable. We chose this hotel because it had a sofa and since we were 5 we needed one. But it was IMPOSSIBLE to try to sleep at the sofa, it was as if you were lying on top of wires covered with a blanket. There were not enough pillows and when I asked for more the man at front desk told me he couldn’t give me one because my room wasn’t part of the hotel w/o even asking, after I complained then he looked at my reservation and noticed he actually could and eventually gave me the pillows. Same happened with towels and toilet paper. (The cleaning service was not included because they were understaffed) When I called complaining for not wanting to give me towels, a lady took the phone and yelled at me saying if I wanted I needed to go at front desk for them. She literally yelled at me. Btw the excuse they gave me of not wanting to give me those things was because they rented part of the building to Pima suites (whom were always trying to abuse from their services) and they continuously thought my room was from that building. Just the most horrible experience at a hotel. The only good thing was the price but if I knew what I was expecting I would’ve never gone there.

We were exhausted when we got to hotel. And next to us there were 3 adults & a baby. I’m guessing they were on Crack or some Opioids because they were loud & talked fast and Loud with baby crying of and on. Turn air on high & played ocean sleep music to drowse out the never end loudness. So tried that we slept 2 hours until air conditioning went off and there noise woke us up ard 11:40pm. Turn air to freezing to try to sleep for but they just never shut up. At 3am I went to complain and sleep in lobby and hopefully my wife could fall asleep. At 4:10am my wife yelled and bang on 303s door to shut the hell up and then packed up came to the lobby very upset & exhausted and said I won’t to go home. We had to cancel our Aquarium tour and drive 4hrs home with no Sleep. We Paid $125 to be tortured at this hotel and loss out on our Aquarium time that morning to drive Exhausted at 4am 4 HOURS HOME! A NIGHTMARE!

Although the coffee was always fresh. And had plenty of creamer and sugar. It would’ve been nice to have something to go with the coffee.After all they did have plenty tables and chairs around the lobby and breakfast area.

Bed Bugs! Hallways unclean. Lighting upstairs in alcove by elevator was out; dark at night and unsafe. Friendly staff at front desk when checking in and out. Beds looked ok but were very uncomfortable. The 2n d day we looked over the other bed that had not been used, and saw what looked like small blackish insects on the sheets; mostly dead; some we weren't sure. The mini fridge had an OVERGROWTH of FROST & ICE inside which caused the fridge to MAKE A LOT OF NOISE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. My husband woke up around 2AM to see what was making the noise. He had to unplug the fridge; and pull it out of the slot to do that at 2AM. When I told the front desk about the bed bugs, the woman at the front desk was very concerned about it. She gave me some clean linens but soon phoned the hotel room and told me they were going to move us to another room next door. This was around 9PM. We agreed, and packed up everything to move. We were checking out in the morning anyway. She came upstairs to give us the new keys. The room was much cleaner. We checked the beds and didn't see any evidence of any bed bugs or other uncleanliness. The carpet looked much cleaner too. She told me that she was going to talk to her boss about reversing the charges for the 2nd night. When we checked out the next morning, a different front desk person said that since we went through a 3rd party for booking, we would have to wait for that decision to go through. Waiting for refund.

The staffing was nice no complain on that we check in at 5 ish we went to sleep at 8 ish we couldn’t sleep due to bed bugs my kids an my self got bitten I went to the front office and told them that we are getting bitten and she did apologize for the inconvenience she switch us to another room but I would never stay here again I rather pay 50 dollars more an stay at the holiday inn the room wasn’t even clean horrible horrible

This hotel experience was one of the absolute worst. The room and surrounding area was atrocious. There were ANTS crawling all over the room couldn't set anything down on ANY surface without the fear of having ants crawl all over your things. The maid staff was not only rude and unprofessional they were borderline criminal. There was a reason this hotel was so cheap with a 3 star rating.

Staff was amazing but room was terrible. Mold and flaking ceiling in shower and pillows were all lumps. Non-smoking room wasn’t always a non smoking room!
