Independence 47 Hotel

Hotel staff and facilities were great.. especially for the price in the area.

The room was a little outdated but clean the only issue I had was it said there was a coffee maker but there was no coffee maker so we had to get up and drive to get coffee in the morning

This motel recently changed from a Days Inn, and apparently the transition has not been ideal. The motel is older, but in decent shape. It just needs some TLC. Our room smelled of "old" cigarette smoke-- even from the drains-- even thought it was a "non-smoking" room. There are small things-- like having a TV channel lineup available-- that would make the stay more enjoyable. There is an opportunity here for the new owners to build something great. It's just gonna take some time... I'm afraid.

At check in I found out that the hotel had been sold to another company on March 10,2021 and the some of the employees were not happy about not being told about the sale until it happened. The staff were great considering what they had been through. The room was clean but needed some work on the vanity area as well bathroom. The hot tub was not hot and the jets barely worked. The property was well kept outside and the pool area was nice. There were people there with dogs and we had to listen to barking dogs as well as watch where you walked because of dog poop in certain areas. There also was a strong smell of marijuana coming from a couple of rooms that we could smell when outside. Overall, the hotel was a disappointment and we will not be staying there again because of the dogs and drugs. Also there was no breakfast being offered because of Covid at least that was what we were told

Other than the fact that this property is no longer a Days Inn, everything was great! Good service, (new staff made great efforts to serve the guests), nice facilities including gym, heated pool, easy parking, etc. The palm trees and grass lawn added to the ambiance. A very nice property, currently worth the price!

We didn't get the room I paid for, the hotel didn't have free breakfast, the shower had some mold.

The property has a lot of potential, large trees with large grassy area, pool, jacuzzi, etc. However, it is quite dated, needs paint, pool decking and pool needs to be resurfaced. The interior of the rooms were quite large with clean, comfy beds, mini fridge, microwave, table, etc. There was a table and chairs right outside the front door to look out onto the grassy area. A restaurant and bar on site would be nice; we walked across the street to the Great Wolf Lodge for drinks and dinner. Overall, a good stay.

Overall a good stay. Property is slightly aged but in excellent condition. The room was a suite and was HUGE. Never been in a hotel room that big. Had a living room with a TV, bedroom with a TV, Kitchenette with freg, microwave, sink, coffee maker. Basin in bathroom and also another basin just outside of bathroom. Two full size closets. Two queen size beds. Lots of room to spare! Also very clean. Used the laundry - no issues. Staff was friendly. Property has pool, Jacuzzi and fire pit. Fire pit would die out and restart every 10 minutes. Had new towels and trash emptied everyday. Asked for more TP and shampoo but never came. Stayed 7 days (about $900.00 taxes and fee) and the bed was made up only *once*. Jacuzzi was not hot and needed chems (no bubbles and had an odor). Pool seemed fine. Shower was not hot and got colder in the early morning. Cable TV / internet had issues. Only basic COX cable, no HBO or anything else. Internet went to a crawl and was UNUSABLE between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. I reported most of the issues to the from desk and got the response "I will let maintenance / housekeeping know about it!" and then never any resolution. The issues were annoying but not show stoppers. Overall a good stay but I would not book again because of the issues.

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Over all, facility is well kept and maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of restaurants and shops near by.

The property was absolutely beautiful. So was the room, and a nice big tv!
