"Very nice stay yet...."

8.0

I am a Russian woman living in the US for the past 10 years and have a lot of traveling experience . I chose this hotel based on the location and also bc I stayed in Radisson in other cities. I never regret my choice , although it was quite disturbing we had no wifi in our room( only in the lobby ),also when I booked this hotel I wanted to make sure there were two beds , yet , we walked into the room with one bed and I repeated my request during my check in. Other then that , hotel was very comfortable , clean and smily staff :) . I would recommend it to everyone , but be mindful of a distance to Hermitage and a few other sightseeing , it would still take a good hour walk to get there.

"Poor value for money"

6.0

Except for location hotel itself is so-so, not justifying the high price tag it demands. For one day stay it's ok, but there are better hotels in town in the same category.

"Clean efficient and friendly central hotel in St P"

8.0

The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming from the start and helped whenever we needed asistance in a friendly and warm way. The was particuarly the case in the reception area and the bar. The staff in the breakfast room were not so friendly but they were efficient. We enjoyed very clean and well ordered rooms and an empty fitness and sauna room which no one else appeared to visit. Our one complaint was that on returning to one of our two rooms one evening after dinner there was an extremely strong smell of cigar or cigarette smoke in the room as if someone had smoked a cigarette in there. We had to open the window wide overnight to get rid of the smell. We never experienced this again and could not work out whether this was because a member of staff had smoked in there or whether the air conditioning went on the blink. Anyway it did not detract from the stay but was disconcerting as there was no other smell of smoke on the whole floor. We had made up our minds to report it if it reoccurred but it did not. Overall I would recommend the hotel to friends and families wanting a central, clean and friendly place to stay from where it was easy to visit all the sights.

"Very good hotel, fantastic location"

8.0

Very good hotel, fantastic location for sightseeing, very helpful staff who speak good English. My only constructive criticism would be that I think that the hotel could do with a bit of a make over in terms of bedroom furniture and fittings - it felt just a little bit dated.

"Weekend in St. Petersburg"

8.0

I would not consider the Radison a 5 Star Hotel. The rooms were pretty small and worn-out. The breakfast area was not very nice. With that said, the hotel staff was very friendly. All in all we enjoyed St. Petersburg.

"Service lacking greatly!"

4.0

We booked the Radisson as we had enjoyed our time in the Radisson in Bucharest. However, we were sadly disappointed. The location of the Radisson Royal in St Petersburg is excellent. It is central to many places and within walking distance to the major sights, including The Hermitage. The room was well appointed and kept very clean.Beds were comfortable and the shower and hot water were great. Our main disappointment however came from the extremely poor service from the reception and concierge staff. Front door sat and watched or were not even there. No-one greeted you on entry or exit, or not even anyone at reception. On check out the main reception wasn't able to give us change for our bill ( a total of 100 ruble)! For a hotel of this size and reputation we were not impressed. This is a beautiful city and its a shame that the service of a very good hotel is not up to expectation!

"Great Hotel"

10.0

To say "centrally located" would not be enough of a compliment to this location for a non-Russian speaker. The hotel became the center of our world. English-speaking staff, numerous restaurants (Elki Palki and Palkin both highly recommended) in close walking distance. Fantastic room service breakfast available. Taxis have easy access in front of the building, along with the Autobus stop. Nearby Metro station (very short walk). Fly Station skydiving practice wind tunnel was a long drive but very affordable by taxi. Dans le Noir (eat in the dark, served by blind waitstaff) only a short drive for an unforgettable experience. Well-stocked mini bar and snacks. Very clean room; complimentary water (don't drink the tap!) Got the room in a package price with the airfare and couldn't have asked for any better value. Hotel has an outstanding reputation among the locals as being top of the line. Many expressed approval when we mentioned where we were staying. The American influence of KFC, McDonald's, etc. is creeping in on Nevsky Prospekt, but it makes it somewhat familiar to the average American tourist visiting a foreign country for the first time. All nearby restaurant menus have English explanations. Stern looking security at the front door, but nice to know they are on "your side" of things. Highly recommend this location, and we will be back again next year.

"Great hotel in ideal location"

10.0

This is a first class hotel in a wonderful location - walking distance to everywhere you want to be as a tourist. The staff is friendly and helpful and speak English! We upgraded for a minimal amount to a very large, comfortable room with a street view - we heard no noise. Breakfast was included with this room - well worth it. We definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in St. Petersburg.
